Review Aberlour Takeaway - Aberlour

Bogdan Metes
We went there late in the day, close to closing time and were greeted with a warm smile. They had knowledgeable and useful recommendations about the food and the local area. Their fish and chips is really tasty, but they also make a breaded alternative which I really enjoyed. The spicy haggis was lovely and the macaroni and cheese bites impressed everyone. This is also where my parents first experienced a deep fried Mars bar. The second time we visited this place, the staff recognised us and really seemed to care about our experience and holiday. Thank you!

One of the best fish suppers I've ever had anywhere. We took it down to a bench by the Spey and enjoyed it there on a late summer's evening. Can't wait to try it again soon.

I enjoyed this place and the food, I will be back during this three day holiday. At first glance I notice the place was very clean and the older guy seemed a little grumpy so I was worried. As we talked he was informative and seemed nicer and friendly, I left with great food for a reasonable price and I will be back. I highly recommend this chippy if you are in Aberlour. FYI they were closing as we walked in at 8 pm and they still served us.

We have ordered from Aberlour Takeaway many times before, the food is always lovely, cooked fresh and great portion sizes. Staff are polite and friendly even at the busiest times. Would highly recommend!

Great local fish and chip shop. We especially liked the beef pie. The spicy haggis was excellent too. We ended up with enough food for lunch and left over for breakfast for under $20

Chips were very good and so was the black pudding that I had everyone else enjoyed there’s, I did try the deep fry pizza in batter this was not for me but my nephew like it. Staff where very helpful and all the order came out together. Great job. having chip suppers under the trees.

Fish & chips here are outstanding! I had the pleasure of spending 5 nights in Craigallachie area on a whisky tour. I tried this chippy my first night and was blown away I tried a pretty upmarket hotel the next night and it was not a patch on the chippy so much so I ate here 3 out of my 5 nights in the area. Lovely chatty owner and some great smiley girls on the counter all in all a wonderful experience.

Our first time having a chippy from Aberlour takeaway as we recently moved to the area. Delicious. Not greasy at all. The fish was cooked lovely - not dry at all, and the kids 1/2 fish portions are great. We'll definitely be back.

We visited the chip shop on a Friday at approx. 6pm. Covid rules at the door requiring face masks and 3 person max at one time. It was clear most food is cooked whilst you wait with very little in the heated cabinet. This ensured our fish and chips were hot and fresh. We had 2 battered fish suppers and a fish in breadcrumbs. Good portions with average sized fish and nice thin batter. The fish in breadcrumbs was slightly over cooked but had good taste. Customers were all wearing masks and there was a conversation outside as none of the staff were. Good taste, average price and a nice clean chip shop.

Stayed with family on the Moray coast. Passed thru on a few occasions visiting family in Cromdale. Best fish and chips I have tasted in a very long time. Very clean shop & staff very friendly. Will visit again when in the area. 👍💫

Best chippy we’ve had in Scotland. Food was cooked fresh & tasted lovely. Tried a mock chop & was surprised. Would defiantly order again if we came by.

On holiday in the area so stopped off for our dinner. We ordered a Jumbo sausage supper and a fishcake supper. Both were freshly cooked and very tasty. Only one small gripe, no chippy sauce offered. Recommended if your in the area.
