A lovely quirky spot for lunch. Fantastic food and friendly, efficient staff. We will be back.

Only had cake & coffee but both were delish. Service was excellent - friendly, cherry, helpful. Convinced me of the cake I needed 😁. How do you rate atmosphere? It was unflustered & relaxing which was what I needed after an explore by bike.

A fantastic little coffee shop and perfect place for lunch. My favourite café in Aboyne. I'd highly recommend At The Sign of the Blackface Sheep's hot chocolate and their vegan carrot cake. Their vegan/vegetarian bruschetta's are lovely too. Lots of great menu choices for lunches. Things do cost a little more than some other places, but in my opinion, it's worth it as a treat!

This cafe was recommended to us by our host at the Furain Guesthouse and we're so glad it was. The food was fresh and delicious and the cakes are so nice. We had the chocolate almond cake and the carrot cake and both were delicious. They also have a shop at the front with some bespoke homeware which was really nice. Would definitely recommend if passing through Aboyne.

Fantastic lunch and service. Sat outside in the sun, seating in and out. A lot more than just a cafe. The emporium shop has great range of items for sale, really worth a visit.

A wonderful wee coffee shop, restaurant and emporium, full of beautiful gifts and homeware in beautiful Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The staff were welcoming and there was a lovely selection of fresh soups, sandwiches and cakes, all well presented. Well worth visiting.

Lovely interiour, combined with a shop for classic home-ware. That makes a very nice combination. Hot chocolate is very beautifully decorated. Everything was very tasty. I would certainly come here again.

This is A hidden gem and absolutely an exception in the whole area! Great design of the shop attracted us to sit in and enjoy the nice coffee and the pieces of cakes which were fantastic! I hope to see people supporting such small business and I hope to see this place having the same level of service when I am back! Great good menu by the way and you can order ehole cakes here! Thank you!

Long standing local supported cafe. The soup/sandwich combo, home made and delicious. Alan has wonderful support with his team. Little gem to be savoured!

Best cake in Aberdeenshire I’d say. V friendly staff too. Perfect for an afternoon cuppa after a snowy walk.

Definitely the best coffee. The Black Faced Sheep has converted me from a real "Tea Jenny" to a confirmed coffee drinker. The meals are delicious, with a wide choice and lots of gluten-free items for me. The cakes are gorgeous too and not too sweet. Best of all, though, is the warm, friendly welcome. We recently had a small family celebration there and it was, at the same time, relaxed and very special. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Now all we have to do is to find another excuse for a party ...

I was all set to visit The Black Faced Sheep for the first time yesterday with my 16 month old daughter, my mum and brother. My mum went in to check whether there were seats available before I took my daughter out of the car seat, and it was clear there were plenty of seats. I took my daughter in and at the same time my mum asked for a table for 3 and high chair, to be advised there were no high chairs. Although my daughter could sit on a regular chair, this wasn't offered to us. We left there and then, and it was clear no effort was made to encourage us to say. It was very apparent this was not a child friendly location. I won't be recommending here to anyone, with or without children.
