My wife has a dog phobia so this place was literally her worst nightmare. There were 15 or so dogs swarming in every direction, many of them with no leash. A few of them ran under our table which was deeply disturbing for her. The food and coffee were decent although I'll note that the jaffle had a lot of moisture dripping from it, and my flat white had far too much foam (about 20mm) and the cup and saucer combination was very unstable. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall I would come back but not with my wife. I will still give it 4 stars for the unique setting, and decent food and service.

Dave and staff are super friendly and chatty. Great coffee. Basic breakfast/brunch choices with interesting and rotating specials board. A range of yummy fresh baked pastries such as sausage rolls and croissants are available. Small selection of tasty cakes and biscuits.

This cafe is run by a lovely couple and their son. I definitely recommend it. I had the most amazing homemade lamb pie here.

This place should be renamed Hazel's Doggy Cafe. At any stage during my sitting there were around 10 dogs present. I am not a dog hater, but there is a certain etiquette when it comes to eating establishments...well I think there should be! Only one dog was on a lead and kept with the owner at the table, all the rest were having a wonderfully social time, and many came to visit us, whilst we were eating. For this reason I won't go back. The food was great, service questionable ( I think we were brought at least 4 coffee rounds and asked if they were ours owing to the tables having no numbers and the staff, well, they were children!) The food was good, which was why I went to try out, based on good reviews and did not fail in this aspect. But I don't want to eat with dogs running around me, and yapping at each other. It ruined an otherwise pleasant cafe experience.

Such a relaxing spot. Had planned to come for a quick breakfast but stayed and enjoyed the view and sounds of the park...and more food and drink, including homemade beauties. The poached eggs were perfect, the staff friendly, the coffee excellent. Will be back.

It has gone through a revolution: from poolside kiosk fayre to an outstanding coffee shop with delicious homemade food in a beautiful setting. You don't need to be poolside, you can enjoy a genuine cafe menu and excellent coffee on the parkside.
Well done to Dave and his team for producing lovely food that's reasonably priced. The charcoal chicken/salad/hummus spread is fantastic.
A hive of activity for dog owners and if you stay long enough you may see a koala saunter past.
A welcomed, reasonably priced addition to Burnside's eateries.

Sunday brunch here this morning....outstanding. I'd heard a lot of good things about this menu and wasn't disappointed. Couldn't go past the mushroom ragu - it was incredible. Haven't tasted anything like it. Big chunks of mushroom in a sauce that was flavoured with native ingredients. It was banging. Bought a bunch of homemade cakes and biscuits to take home. So good. Will definitely be back next week to work through the rest of the menu.
