Visited today for the first time - wonderful freshly prepared home cooked food - would recommend the beetroot quiche - amazing flavours! We had our lunch sat outside looking towards the sea - a small friendly place with no pretentiousness.. just a strong sense of community - love it x
A wonderful cafe with lovely views and a great atmosphere. Had a lovely cup of coffee and a wonderful piece of coffee and walnut cake witch is home made by Fiona as with all the food served there. Well worth a visit.
Had the most wonderful evening at The Edge. A bunch of locals (John, Mick & Finn) rolled up and we laughed & laughed listening to their stories! In the meantime Fiona spoilt us with delicious home made Fish pie & Salad & home made sticky date pudding. All in all a truly wonderful evening all around the table swapping stories! Best meal in 5 weeks away!

We visited The Edge Cafe today for the first time. Fiona's fish chowder is fabulous and made to order. I wish I had another bowl now! We will definitely go back whenever we are in the area.
How wonderful to find good food at the extreme North West of Lewis. It opens on a Sunday too! Unusual for this part of the world.
Great food and service. Lovely friendly atmosphere created with the communal table. Went twice during my holiday and looking forward to my next visit. Good job there's some wonderful walks and views to work off all that delicious cake!

The must be one of the quirltest of quirky cafes that I’ve ever visited. But it was fun, if you like being thrown together with other travellers at one large table. Authentic thin porcelain china was used. The one person serving and cooking was clearly overwhelmed with the situation so I’d recommend avoiding cooked food and eating cake. Nevertheless, the seafood chowder tasted good.
The most unusual cafe i have ever been in the views are spectacular and the chowder was the best I've tasted the scones with cream and fresh strawberries were delicious the owner Fiona makes everything from scratch using fresh and local produce well worth the drive

A cute place with lots of local nick nacks and artwork. There is a dinning section with a long dinning table and mixture of chairs. There is also 2 armchairs at the window. The food was delicious, made fresh by the owner herself. Good atmosphere and very friendly.
Fantastic little place ran by Fiona. The food was outstanding. The restaurant is run by Fiona herself and everything is made from fresh. Lovely to sit & talk to the people that are visiting whilst waiting on your food. Got talking to some locals and people from Europe - very interesting. Would definitely recommend.
You have to just 'keep on driving' that little bit further to eventually find this little community owned hidden gem.
The lady running the cafe is a genuine foodie, and seems to takes great pride in all her culinary offerings. I only dropped in for coffee and couple of cakes, and everything was excellent.
I chatted afterwards to other diners, who were v happy with their rich creamy fish soups. Wish now that i had that too!

Fabulous lunch and evening meals with a brilliant host. The fish pie is amazing as was the mushroom soup and sticky toffee pudding. Aird Uig is a pretty cool place to visit!

Thankyou Fiona for having me. Everything was delightful and the banana loaf was amazing. Loved chatting to Fiona and others local to the area at the big communal table.
Fiona made me strawberry salad which I had never had before. A hidden gem of a cafe, or more like being invited to someones home.
Great little place where all the food is made right there and then for you, after you decide off a list of ideas. Whilst it is being cooked, the owner chats away and asks you about where you have been and you plans etc.
Would recommend to others and there was proper coffee!!

Rustic, homely welcoming and great food. Not many places are open on a Sunday on the island, but fortunately The Edge Cafe was, making for a good Sunday outing. We were greeted by the owner, who informed us that food on the menu was an idea of what she could offer, but she could cooked from scratch depending on what we wanted and the ingredients she had. In this case we wanted soup and she offered either a fish chowder or a mushroom soup, which we went for mushroom. It really felt like I had just stepped into the family kitchen and mum was just putting lunch on. The seating area consisted of a large communal dining table surrounded with chairs and two cozy arm chairs, which again, gave the feeling of having lunch in a family home. It was lovely and rustic and on a breezy day, with the view of the waves crashing against the cliff, it was just wonderful. As well as toilet amenities, there are an additional two other rooms with crafts in to purchase from local art and craft islanders. Just be mindful cash is preferred here! After having a look around, we were called through for our soup. It was the best mushroom soup me and my partner had eaten. It was warm, chunky and creamy, with lovely bread on the side. Another couple had joined at this point, and along with the owner, we had a lovely chat all together.
If you like rustic, communal and down to earth goodness, this is the place to visit.

A cafe like no other - extraordinary views, food made to order, and friendly staff with a knowledge of local history. A unique experience all round.
A very unique place to be, friendly and local atmosphere. Fiona is a wonderful host, we have enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Food is made to order and prepared on the spot (we had fish chowder and cakes, both delicious), but you can visit the little gallery/shop while waiting or just chat with the others, since there is only one long table. I highly recommend!
We sat down and had a chat with the proprietor about our shared heritage. She made us a very nice chowder and tea.
