Aldergrove Cafe

My second visit was on Tuesday, April 19. . . This cute little cafe has been around for many years but had to close for COVID... Just reopened this month. New menu, photos attached. Servings are generous, and the service is very personalized! One of the few places that are happy to accommodate individual preferences/diets! I'm looking forward to having dinner here soon.

We were super saddened to hear the bad news regarding June. Our thoughts are with Peter and their son. Food was amazing. We went in expecting to be told we were sharing an Aldergrove burger, (theat was June's way!) but it isn't on the menu anymore. What we had today was great. Super friendly waitress.

I believe this place has changed hands. Previous internet reviews just did not match my experience. The food was terrible. Eggs were small and undercooked, holandaise sauce was a package and had lumps in it. They didn't even follow those instructions. I received one piece if bacon cut in half and clearly it was pre- cooked then burnt. One American cheese slice ripped in half and cold under the bacon. The other half of the plate was shoe string hash browns that were burnt and cold at the same time . I was asked if the breakfast was OK and I said no it was awful and the cost was stricken from the bill, but I would hate for some one else to go in there and receive this Canadian Bene. You also should know my husband ordered the 3 egg inlet... no - don't get it. There was no bulk or fluffiness to it. He had a dicky stomach that night. It was almost like the cook had to step out and some randon kid just thought he would cook. No method or knowledge at grill. The toast wasn't evenly buttered. The wait staff were very nice and personable. The restaurant itself remodeled and clean. Take a sweater it was cold in there. We were the only ones in there at 10am on a Friday. I do not recommend this restaurant and we won't be back.

Review for newly re-opened restaurant: Worst breakfast at a restaurant I've ever experienced. Gave us rock hard cantaloupe, rotten grapes, mashed potatoes pretty much when we asked for shredded, lumpy store bought hollandaise. I ordered medium poached, the yolk was rock hard. Dad ordered a Denver omelet, and it was runny throughout. Coffee was full of thick coffee grinds. Growing pains hopefully, as the prices aren't great and service was poor.
