A lot seems to have been done to improve this NT site since I last visited many years ago. Beautifully designed walled garden with mainly white flowers, surrounded by wood-like parkland with winding paths and interesting plants. It's not exciting but beautiful and relaxing. Two interesting modern
Although not the largest national trust site, around 10 acres, this was still an enjoyable experience. The wall garden and surrounding areas are very picturesque, and this would be a nice place to have a picnic. There is a small playground for children located near the walled garden. In all, it took
You will find a sense of Peace and calm here, you can buy refreshments in the welcome building , there's a walled garden, ponds with bridges crossing , wooded areas to walk, toilets behind the walled garden, great day for small children to explore & let loose in the walled garden area, rope swing &
This is a very pleasant garden and wooded area close to Alderley Edge. It isn't massive but there are a few trails to walk through the trees and a nice walled garden area. They had little backpacks with binoculars and birdwatching cards for the kids when we visited last. There are also basic ice cr
A beautiful place. The walled garden is magical. WOW. I was so pleased I was there when it opened. Early so I could capture the magnificent Wisteria. The grounds and forests just as beautiful. A lovely place to walk amongst nature.
Visited 02/04/2023, as per the guidebook that comes with your National Trust membership the sat nav takes you to an incorrect location, travel a little further down the road and then you will see the sign for the car park. There are a couple cattle grids to navigate and lots of pot holes so drive c
One of the smaller national parks however just as amazing and beautiful. The park is located in Macclesfield and privides plenty of parking and wonderful cows as views over the fields. As we park up there is a little shop where we pay/show national trust passes for entry. The little shop sell hot an
Lovely place to visit and if you go when the wisteria is in bloom it's a real treat. Just be aware it's not somewhere you'd spend a lot of time at, unless you take a picnic and have it in the walled garden.
Gorgeous gardens and a fantastic trail for the kids. Staff were really friendly as well
Very nice walled garden but the park needs something else to add to the experience. Perhaps a cafe although it was nice to get a coffee & ice cream at the reception hut before leaving a small one page map showing facilities toilets etc would be good. Friendly staff & eager to help. Won't be rushin
Lovely little walk, great gardens and amazing trail for the kids!!
Lovely place. It's quite a small property but the gardens are beautiful and it's nice to take a picnic and sit on the grass. Nice views over towards Manchester and the countryside from around the site. No refreshment facilities the day we visited but we had taken our own so this wasn't a problem. Ca
A really nice place to visit, with meandering pathways and interesting flavours and fauna. The walled garden is a very relaxing area, with many interesting plants, and an area to sit and relax
This was our first visit. We had a lovely warm welcome and the place is an absolute gem. On a warm Saturday it wasn't at all busy, and was somewhere you could bring a picnic and a book and spend a peaceful afternoon. In terms of doing the site, allow 1 1/2 hours to visit the walled garden and woo
Lovely small, picturesque and quiet National Trust property, we enjoyed a picnic in the walled garden and watched the horses dredging the pond! The view behind the house is well worth checking out. Facilities are great considering such a small place, we will be returning, thank you!
Beautiful secret garden But be careful of the potholes on the driveway
It was windy when we visited but these gardens are really sheltered. A great place to walk without getting blown away! The National Trust have clearly been busy as the gardens are looking even better than when we visited in 2020. In late March the daffodils are out and even a couple of the early rh
Wonderful walks, as long or as short as you want. Places to picnic, dog friendly, secondhand books for a donation. No yea room but the staff make tea and coffee at the entrance, ice cream available too. Wheelchair friendly in some parts but it would be a hard push on the mulch paths.
