Reviews Waroeng Windsor

I originally visited Waroeng Windsor when they were at their previous location which I believed was Aldershot, and I left disappointed because half of the menu items weren’t available. I made the decision to give the restaurant another chance and I’m glad I did because the food was extremely tasty and the ayem boku or woku dish was juicy and tender. The ayem sate was almost authentic but the chicken isn’t the same as the village chicken in Indonesia for obvious reasons and hence doesn’t have that specific taste but it was really nice. You do have to ask for spicy sambal because ‘Bule’ taste buds can’t typically handle spicy, so they naturally reduce the spicy level but they where happy to throw some together for me. The meal certainly doesn’t have the same price tag as Indonesia lol! I had a similar meal in manado and it cost me like 120,000idr≈£3 but it cost £65 here!! I did have two es cendol though and again not quite as tasty but as close as you can get to authentic one but obviously taking into account ingredients cost a lot more due to import costs, so the price makes sense to me and the Jack fruit isn’t as tasty as when it’s fresh. I still loved it :) Would definitely visit again if I was in the area but I did on this occasion drive one hour and thirty minutes and the fuel adds up lol. If I had anything negative to say, it would be, bigger portions please :) lol

I ordered the tempeh mendoan and the prawn balado and it was delicious. The tempeh just hit the spot perfectly as the batter was so crispy and the sauce that came with it was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I highly recommend the tempeh mendoan to anyone looking for something greasy and deep fried to hit the spot. The prawn balado was equally good. I can't describe the flavour in any other way other than tasty. There's nothing else quite like it. The service was immaculate as well. The people who work there have always been very kind so when you go, you will always be greeted warmly. We were able to eat outside as well, which was very enjoyable. This is a nice and cosy little establishment, and the food here is top notch. I would therefore highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You will not be disappointed, especially at this price point. I paid £19 in total when i went left feeling very full as the portion sizes are very generous.

Besides the delicious food(!), it were the amazing people that made us go here two days in a row. When I mentioned that I am crazy about Gado Gado and Tempeh, they made me a customised dish that was better than any Gado Gado I ever had before (and boy, I have had many 😇) I highly recommend going here, and I am sure that they will be happy to have you :).

Always wanted to try this cute little cafe like restaurant .limited seating Ordered Gado Gado , which was the dish of the day (Wednesday) , a vegetarian dish/ salad with a flavourful curry a mix of steamed / blanched beans, potato , bean sprouts, carrot topper with cucumber and fried crispy onion. It was lightly sweetened , peanuty and coconut flavoured. The Indonesian tea both hot and cold were amazing. Chicken satay was too grilled for my personal liking . The owner was super friendly and even offered sambal ,super spicy red chilli oil dip. Overall a good place in aldershot to eat.

Food was really amazing. Authenticity far exceeded our expectations. Also, the owner was such a great guy. Proud of his country and really went out of his way to make sure we ordered the right things for our family (we had little kids in tow).

Very welcoming owners, incredibly tasty food, very reasonable prices. Aldershot needs more restaurants like this! If you are in 2 minds, just try it, you will be pleasantly surprised like I was!

Waroeng Windsor in Windsor is bigger and located strategically in the centre of Windsor. It is a good place to chill, to enjoy the lovely Indonesian food after a hard day shopping or sightseeing. More variations of food for everyone. Friendly host too...Love it👍😍🤗

Been here many times and hope to return many more times. The food is absolutely delicious and you can request it “Indonesian Spicy” if you want. Everything is fresh and authentic as possible. Really thankful to have this restaurant in Windsor.

We had the best bebek goreng rangup with sambal penyet yesterday, really worth the wait! It was so crunchy and the taste is super authentic. The owner is really kind and friendly, he really made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be returning again when we come down to Windsor ❤️ If you ever wonder if you should try this waroeng, no second thought needed - just go there and try their authentic Indonesian food and you won’t be dissappointed!

We were shocked and delighted to discover this authentic Indonesian restaurant! We lived in Indonesia for 5 years and the food was spot on! We highly recommend the rendang once they are able to make it again. The Chicken sate was fantastic. The owner was very friendly! Visit this restaurant to help keep it open while more and more people learn about Indonesian cuisine!

Went for dinner with my family for the first time last weekend. We were made very welcome and the service was outstanding. We were recommended to a few dishes apart from the ones we have chosen. We thoroughly enjoyed the satay, gado gado, mee goreng, fried seabass etc and the chendols were super yummy and tasty. We returned today with some friends and were welcomed by Manta. He was very friendly and as expected the dishes we ordered were most delicious and our empty plates spoke volumes. We will most certainly return again in the near future. Thanks again Manta 👏👏

Great, authentic food, reasonably priced. The maître d' looked after us well. There were 3 generations in our party and everything we ordered was fabulous. The children 7 and 9 polished off their plates. The amount of chilli can be regulated on most of the dishes by adding their homemade delicious sambal, if you want to ramp up the heat.
