I felt I needed to try all three courses so started with deep fried Brie ...oh wow just amazing!! Then I chose the mushroom and asparagus risotto which was the best risotto I have ever had! Also ordered extra cheesy garlic ciabatta and skin on fries but couldn’t eat much of the sides as the main was such a generous portion. Now for dessert... I struggled to make my mind up so really need to visit again and again just to taste the other desserts. I settled on the cornflake tart with custard and was definitely not disappointed with my choice... absolutely the best meal I have eaten for a long time and will certainly visit again soon to enjoy more from the menu!

The food was superb and well presented. Great Beer, a good range of wine's and a good selection of Gin's. The place itself is just lovely, lots of cosy rooms on several levels, yet open plan, full of character. Apparently a family run pub, with parents and step daughters front of house and Son's (qualified chefs) in the kitchen. Also BQ's on some weekends, and the views from the large gardens, are just breathtaking. Would highly recommend, well worth a visit, you may be worth booking a table for food though.

I was incredibly lucky to win a Steak Night meal at The Plough. Wow! Plwow. Our steaks were just perfect. Chips to die for, I kid you not. Our desserts were just truly you know what. I have never seen the car park so full for years. Now I know why. I’ve always loved the decor here but now the food and the welcome are both up to scratch. Great drinks selection. Sadly I was driving but I will be back very soon in passenger mode. Thanks for a lovely relaxed evening. X

The food was incredible, the service was so personal and the atmosphere was so homely. They made such an effort with me and my family and went miles out of their way for us. Our family hasn’t stopped talking about the food or the staff! Nothing was too much! Thank you so much for the best time. Can’t wait to come back xxxx

My partner and I found this on Groupon - so glad we did. The food was fantastic we had the deep fried Brie and the garlic and thyme mushrooms for starters followed by fish n chips and pork cooked 3 ways. Then we shared the sticky toffee pudding as a dessert. The management and staff are really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

My partner and myself have attended the pub today as part of my birthday celebrations. The spec was a country public house with fantastic food, welcoming and hospitable staff and reasonably priced. I can say that this pub lived up to all of the above and more. We would definitely come again without a doubt.

What an incredible place to go for food! Me & my partner fancied a meal out and went here out of the blue. The service was brilliant, drinks were great and the food was on another level! We’ll now be regulars coming back. We had the 10oz rump steak and Royal burger and can honestly say we’ve never had better food. Thank you!

What a lovely place to share a meal with family or friends. Everyone on our table remarked on the large portions served. We thought small plates meant starters, so we were amazed by the size of them, but quality and taste wasn't skimped on. I had Foccacia and olives, delicious. Then the main course didn't disappoint! I had Fish Pie, I was so full, I couldn't eat it all! We will definitely go there again. Ample parking, lots of steps. Excellent value for money.

Nice pub, great food, decent enough service. Onion rings were great, as well as the crispy bacon on the burger! A nice treat/birthday meal!

Fantastic find on our day out in the Peak District. Waze brought us a wild way from Birmingham but we are so glad, this pub is fantastic. Reasonably priced, cracking views and decent sized portions. My partner said it was the best chicken salad she’s ever had!Would highly recommend. Photo is of the chicken gyros.

We could not have chosen a better place for our anniversary. Great location, really beautiful and cosy old building. The steak was delicious and really well cooked. The apple crumble was a bit of a disappointment, but in general the food was good and staff super friendly.

Great service and lovely food. We both had the Sunday roast, the lamb was a little rare for my liking but overall the food was delicious

Reopened. Renovated. Redesigned. Renewed. Really good! ☆☆☆☆☆ Lovely new beautiful interior in a modern feel with a nod to a classic country pub style. A fine selection of lagers, ales, cider, rum, gin and wine. Went for the Sunstone Hazy Pale and bloody lovely it was, too! The new menu here is a wonderful array of classics, old favourites, continental cuisine and modern twists. A lot of choice, all of which could have been a contender. Went for a pizza as only an afternoon snack and what a pizza it was! Freshly prepared and topped with brie, mushrooms and chutney for a completely new pizza experience. Other meals going out looked very appetising especially the burgers. Inside is very nice but outside garden area is huge with lawn garden and patio area with far reaching views to the Charnwood hills of Leicestershire. Only negative is the music needs to be down a touch especially when only a few people inside. Oh and plastic fake grass in the entrance hall? Yuk. Gonna go back and order all 11 tapas dishes to try!

Excellent if not too generous food portions. Lots of choice and menu has some original and tasty options. Staff couldn't do enough for us whilst there, very attentive. The atmosphere seems good, however when in larger groups always feels like you're separated from the main areas. Probably didn't help, that when we were there, there was a very chatty, loud young man and his partner. Would be nice to sit somewhere different.

Went in for an early dinner (2 adults and a toddler) Place was very quiet. Staff were fantastic, not overbearing but very friendly and helpful. My daughter is a very very fussy eater and they were happy to do a sort of child friendly ploughman’s (cheese, peppers and some fruit) for her and even cut it up to suit little hands. Our food was also fantastic, big portions, fresh soft bread for the sandwiches and amazing chips. I live locally and will definitely be back soon

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night. It was busy, but the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food was lovely and the portion sizes were big. I had the fish pie which was excellent.
