The George Inn - Alfriston - Photo album

We walked into the George totally drenched, muddy and dripping wet during a walking weekend. The team at the George (Frances, Ellie and Debbie) could not have been more welcoming. Food and drink was superb as we dried out beside the wood fire. Unbelievably they even offered to post back some exces
A great pub with outstanding service. Stopped for drinks and ended up eating. Couple of minor issues with order and the staff were amazing in rectifying the issues. Cannot comment on accommodation as just ate and drunk.
Food was OK, had fish pie and had bones in the first 4 mouthfuls which spoilt it. Though food was a bit expensive for what it was. Nice location friendly staff
Booked in for dinner after long South Downs walk in the 🌧 alas. Nice ambience but disappointed that at 730pm there were no roast potatoes or Yorkshire pudding to go with the roast dinner option. Apparently they had all been eaten 😕 we settled for potato alternative and extra beef. The beer was nice.
Had lunch there during a sightseeing visit to Alfriston. Lovely venue, lots of character and pleasant, welcoming staff. Just a main course and some wine - prices pretty much comparable to the Harvester we ate at a few days earlier, but quality on another level. Add all of this to such a picturesque
Nice old characterful pub. We ate here and the food was pretty good. Set right in the middle of this beautiful village, its definitely worth stopping by.

Very much enjoyed the food here in a really nice setting good service as well
Really friendly staff, and some great beers! Music was very good aswell!
The family had a lunch here to celebrate a birthday. The food is excellent, there is clearly someone in the kitchen who knows what they are doing. Prices competitive and service pleasant, friendly and understanding to the whims of younger people. Highly recommended
Really nice pub, lots of places to sit and a massive garden - although lacking the view of the Six Bells just down the road. The rugby was on when we went for a drink so it was pretty busy but there was another room where they weren't showing it which I thought was a nice touch for those not interes

best roast we’ve had for a long time. all 6 of us thought it was delicious, staff were lovely and helpful, and the mussels and roasts were wonderful and succulent. we really recommend.
Very sorry to be so late in posting this review. We based our family here for four nights a couple of months ago on the occasion of our son's wedding. We were made absolutely welcome and made to feel at home from home for the entirety of our stay. Breakfast was great and we hosted a family meal for
Very last minute booking as the Hotel down the road had taken my booking, online, it was closed when I arrived. If I ever stay in the area again The George Inn will definitely be my place of choice. Staff amazing, food fantastic and breakfast 1st class. This is an 18th Century building and is so ch
