Hartside Top Cafe - Alston - Photo album

The cafe doesnt look much on the outside but the views across to the lake district are fantastic. The staff are friendly and the food is really tasty and good value. A real unexpected gem.
We like an early set off up here,For a good run on the bikes and stop for a awesome full english breakfast. The roads from penrith roundabout are awesome for bikers. Friendly staff and clean. Reasonable prices and a good menu!
The views are stunning and the roads from a biker's perspective are just superb.
Amazing views. Only let down was that no dogs are allowed even though it's in walkers haven l. Lovely heart small breakfast
Beautiful views, lovely lemon drizzle cake 🍋
The building in the pics burned down a while ago but there's now what amounts to a large burger van on site doing food and drinks. Excellent biking road to get there, particularly from the west. Car/bike park is very windy so it'll probably be chilly unless the sun is out
Went here doing the coast to coast challenge just what you need a cafe after a hard climb up the hill to it, the only problem was it was closed!!
Great views and affordable. However, be aware that they tend to shut around 5, and I mean shut: we went to get teas at 4:30 and found they were only doing takeaways at that point. This is just a tip for visitors - I totally understand this - because they're in the middle of nowhere they've probably
Fast service, cheap, friendly staff, nice views.
Great views and on a good day you can see the lake district. The food is nice for a quick bite and finally there is a cash machine here. This is a very popular stop for cyclists and motorbikes and myself being one of them. The only downside is the cleanliness of the toilets
