Really enjoyed our experience at the Rollercoaster Restaurant. Lovely food, huge portions. Would defo recommend. . Although the beer was very overpriced.
This is not a fine dinning resteraunt, go somewhere else if that's what your after. This is pure fun, fun, fun! Kids and adults loved ordering our own food to watch it fly from the kitchen hatch to our table. Need one in Thorpe Park as it's closer so we could go again!
Service was really quick and food was a good quality. Great fun for the kids.
My niece really wanted us to eat here. The novelty factor is definitely high and makes it great for children. Very little choice of food and drink though (no small bottles of sparkling water) and quite expensive for what you get and the lighting was a bit uncomfortable but my niece loved it so that's a win for me.
Great experience for the kids and adults in my opinion. The food was ok, there wasn't a huge amount of choice, but it came out cooked and the best part is definitely watching it going around the rollercoaster 🎢 and landing at your table. The cocktails were a bit pricey and not great (no mixologists exist here) stick with a bottle of pop.
The kids wanted to go again the next night!
Great experience - worth a visit.
And (Big Note) if you're stopping at Alton Towers Hotel/Splash landings hotel or CBeebies hotel, you can exit the rollercoaster restaurant turn right and head out of the park at that location. Literally a 5-8 minute walk to the hotel.
Let 👏 me 👏 tell 👏 you...
10/10 on this one, especially if you've just spent the day at Alton Towers and want to continue your rollercoaster high 🎢
Have to say, we (as a group of 4, including one Vegan 🌱) were impressed with the quality of the food here, and also it's preparation time. To top it off, it's always great fun to watch your food swirl down to you on a mini rollercoaster of its own straight to your table.
The price for drinks ~£3.85 for a bottle of coke is a bit 😬 but again, you're paying for the novelty of being in the rollercoaster restaurant.
Solid 5 stars as I have no serious complaints other than:
1) could dim the lights a bit so we can enjoy the LED strips
2) spenny drinks 🤣
(piccy of food is the vegan falafel wrap, cajun fries and salad)
This restaurant is located within the Alton Towers theme park. On arrival the staff were friendly and seated us at the table. The novelty is that all food is ordered via mobile and it arrives at your table via tracks a.k.a like a rollercoaster. Due to this you will most likely have to share a table with another group. Overall the food was ok but there was a large delay in some of the food.
Self service style dining, food was fairly standard for a fast food place. The experience of dining was a world of difference though, all things bought are delivered via a roller coaster style dispensary. Thought the concept was absolutely brilliant given the relevance to location. If you're at Alton Towers I can't fault this place for a quick bite to eat.
Staff were friendly & attentive, we were seated quickly & the server explained how to order the food, etc.
I had the smiler burger which was nice enough, decent portions for the price when you think it's nearly £11 for a hotdog outside on the stalls.
My son has the bbq cheese burger but removed the bbq sauce. The burger itself was very dry even with adding some ketchup.
We ordered mac & Cheese bites as a side to share, which actually came first without us realising as unfortunately they we're taken by the family sitting on spot 1-4 so they saw them & assumed it was their food as they had also ordered some. We were seated on spot 9-12 so had no idea they were ours as the ticket didnt really say who's order it was. No one realised until our food arrived, minus the cheese bites & none of their other dishes had turned up.
This was the main downside of the visit as it meant we had finished our meals by the time the other families food arrived.
Each set of seats is given a number & the food arrives with the set number on it, so why the restaurant can't also add a sticker or card with the seat number is a bit baffling.
Great food with a unique delivery service. Food was a little pricey but I didn't mind so much as the quality was good with a decent portion size.
Food was surprisingly good considering it was delivered via a rollercoaster! Good concept for a restaurant just let down slightly by the details. The lighting and music inside the restaurant feels more like a night club than a place to eat at times, but other than that definitely worth a visit if you've never been before
It's worth a trip once. It is fun and something a bit different, especially if you have children.
However, service is very limited - you have to order on the app and we weren't really checked on at all during our experience. It is perhaps taking self serve a bit far, especially considering the price. Found this a bit difficult with two tired and hungry young children.
The menu is limited and portions are on the smaller size but the food was fine.
Generally…AMAZING!! Had such an amazing time. Food was well priced for an amusement park .Wonderful rollercoaster restaurant and beautiful customer service, (We even got free pineapple juice) my 2-5 yo absolutely loved this -so did all my other kiddos-.
Definitely worth it, had such a fun time 😁
Got to be 4 stars for the fun factor and warmth on a cold October day. Wouldn't say it was the best food. But in October 2023 it was a similar price to buy burger and chips inside the rollercoaster restaurant as it was to buy a meal deal (burger, chips and drink) from a takeaway in the park. We got the novelty value of watching the food arrive on little rollercoasters, got to sit in the warmth for a bit and the adults got a pint (additional charge obviously!). We enjoyed it and would go back.
Really good for an experience. Love how bottles and food come to you on its own rollercoaster! The food is average but lots of different items and you really pay for the experience! Staff are friendly and really good at clearing and answering any questions. Would definitely recommend if coming to the park
Staff lovely, food is nice and it’s a very quirky restaurant. Only issues are the price ( to be expected at a theme park) and the choice is quite limited.
We loved it here, the experience was great for the kids and we really enjoyed the food. The prices aren't that extortionate compared to other theme parks, it cost us approx £55 for 4 of us to eat and that's drinks included. Kids mocktails tasted great too 🥰 only downside was there is no deserts to finish off!
Was a bit optimistic about coming here after reading the reviews but so glad we did. Myself and my partner took our 3 year old and we all loved it. Food was really lovely, staff were nice and the whole experience was really fun, kept our toddler entertained watching the food coming down on the rollercoasters. Prices were also really reasonable considering how much stuff usually costs at a theme park was expecting to pay alot more than we did.
Definitely recommend a visit and recommend the chicken tenders,
We will be coming back again on our next visit.
