Having previously lived near Green Lanes in London (home to some of the best Turkish restaurants in the capital) my husband and I were really excited about the prospect of having a decent Turkish on our doorstep.
Nuro really didn’t disappoint and the food we had was certainly comparable to the meals we’d had on Green Lanes. We had the Nuro Special and Yogurtlu Lamb Shish as mains and both were delightfully good. Meat was tender and beautifully spiced/seasoned. Salad was fresh and tasty. Side chips were decent and made all the more memorable when accompanied by Nuro’s ‘secret’ sauce.
The aubergine starter we had along with the hummus was also lovely. Husband was happy Efes was on the menu and I thought the Turkish white wine was very quaffable.
Service was outstanding and I really liked the cosy décor of the place.
Alton is really lucky to have this restaurant.
To think of this place as a kebab house is completely missing the point. It's a Turkish Restaurant that sells kebabs not somewhere to only go when you've had a few on a night out. There's no doner served here, just chicken breast, lamb shish, koftas and chops in pita or flat bread. It's really very good, perfect for lunch or dinner.
Try it when you're sober, you won't be disappointed!
Honestly a real surprise. Looks like a regular kebab house until you get shown to your table. Service is superb, in part because there is only a few tables ( book in advance) food is fantastic, a real kebab for a change, no lamb handbags on the menu. Beer and wine available. Try the Turkish wine. Very good.
Had the £25 family takeaway meal and it was lovely. More than enough food for all of us and absolutely delicious. The restaurant looked lovely & the place was very clean. The guys working there were really nice. We'll definitely be back.
Tried this restaurant last night for the first time - takeaway on this occasion. Really impressed with the clean and modern refurbishment, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding, tasty and freshly prepared! We will certainly be back to try the sit down menu and will recommend to others! Please support this restaurant as we need quality like this in Alton.
Tried for 1st time. Very clean and tidy. Good service (take away). Really nicely prepared food in white boxes. Well done, however Eco friendly cardboard boxes didn't keep food hot. Also two steps into restaurant so not disabled friendly.
Really good! Had a takeaway last night and it was delicious. Would highly recommend the lamb kofte burger - a really tasty handmade patty with lots of fresh salad. Very reasonably priced for takeaway as well.
Great atmosphere, excellent value for money and the food is delicious. They've done a really good job with the refurbishment and made it a very nice place to sit and eat. The staff were very hospitable and welcoming, I will definitely be eating there again.
I have eaten at Nuro a few times now (daytime not evening). It is very clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the quality of the lamb is amazing and the cook is great. Please don't go there - I want to keep it for myself!
Lovely Kebabs. Very nearly gave them 5 stars but sometimes a tincy bit smaller than I’d like portion wise. I’d give it a solid 4.5 though. Great sauces.
Had a takeaway last night to test the water and have to say I was impressed. Having grown up in London not far from one of the best Turkish places in London (Fez Managal - check it out!) I have to say Nuro is pretty good. The homemade chilli and garlic sauces make the kebabs that bit more special along with the nice variety of fresh salad. The chicken and lamb shish are really well marinated and cooked perfectly. Giving it 4 stars because they use shop bought pitta which is a bit of a let down but it's not the end of the world. I'll definitely be back.
Delicious and flavourful.
The food at Nuro was interesting and delicious. Well situated in Alton's high street, the restaurant offers an upmarket experience and a relaxed but premier atmosphere.

Really great turkish food well. Great tasting, well presented and had a nice staff. Would stop in on occasion if I was local. Had the Nuro special and tried some Turkish Red wine which was pleasent.
Been there 3 times, 1 time to sit in and 2 takeaways. Always lovely fresh food, big portions and so tasty!
Very high quality food, but the portions were a little on the small side. Vegan options are... adequate?
