Really enjoyed our stop here. Nice drinks, just had a couple tapas but very nice. Food service rather slow, with things coming when they are ready (meaning very sporadically). Nonetheless, very enjoyable and would return
Visited Ambleside this weekend for the first time, a friend recommended Bar Es so I booked us a table Friday evening, due to car issues we arrived later than we expected but the team were happy to push back our reservation, I had previously mentioned I had allergies and listed them for the team, when I arrived they had already looked through their menu and highlighted what I could have and what changes could be made to allow me to have certain items! Really appreciated all the effort they went to to make me feel so safe and welcome. The food was delicious, and so were the cocktails. We had the best time here and would definitely come back/recommend to any of our friends in the future.
Great experience all around. The staff were helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was nice not too busy when we visited on a Thursday evening. Food was really delicious and fresh.
Always have a fab time at Bar Es! Lovely staff who always do their best for you. Plus they always have Fell Brewery's Session IPA and a good range of guest beers 😋
Only down side is that the food can be a bit inconsistent in quality depending on the night you go. Always tastes nice however ☺️
Really nice restaurant which also has the bonus of being dog friendly. We enjoyed everything about the place. We chose 4 tapas dishes (Chorizo, Prawns, goats cheese salad and Patatas Bravos) alongside the nachos and the Tacos although we wasn’t really impressed with the flavours of the tacos and thats why i marked the food star down slightly. Everything else was really tasty.
Visited a week ago. Have been to the venue in Keswick which was great, and Ambleside did not disappoint ! Excellent cocktails (I had a perfect Margarita) super delicious food (nachos and goats cheese quesadilla) and our waitress was fab. Look forward to a return visit 😃 : x
Decided to visit Bar eS as they have a vegan menu and so glad we did. Lovely chilled vibes very relaxing, great food and an excellent craft beer selection which a quick Google showed most were vegan friendly too. Vegan nachos, patatas bravas, refried beans, salad, olives, padron peppers and guacamole were all delicious and clean plates were testament to how good it all was. They had vegan churros too but we were too full. Will definitely return when next in Ambleside. Loved the whole experience.
Happened to come across this place by chance and what a chance this was. The place is deceptively spacious with a great ambience. The menu is not exhaustive but sufficient enough to address all palates and cravings. Being a “Mexican tapas” the portion sizes were accordingly appropriate. The cocktails were as expected. The service was good and the waiters were attentive and caring. Overall a great end to the day
The food here is absolutely delicious, and we really appreciated that they have a dedicated vegan menu with many different options. You even mark the menu separately so there's no risk of confusion with the omnivore menu.
The only real low point was that after our main courses staff asked if we wanted more drinks and dessert, and it was only after we had ordered and received our drinks that we were told they needed our table in 15 minutes (which in the end was more like 10). I appreciate this may have just been a bit of miscommunication between staff but it didn't feel great to be rushed out. We're glad we only ordered a couple of soft drinks that we could take away in the bottles, because if we had ordered alcohol and had to chug it in 15 minutes we would have been rather annoyed!
I still have no hesitation in recommending this place though, as I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Lucky to find this lovely Spanish Tapas which is hidden but well worth it. If you are in Ambleside this is a place you must try if you want a Spanish feeling tapas. We had a jug of Sangria, ribs, meatballs,squid....amazing and breaded chilli with soft cream cheese which was all amazing. Great service always and if you can't book online try contacting them directly and they will help book you in. It is a place once you try you will always come back. See you soon xx
