Spot on. Quite possibly the best! The guy on the phone squeezed 6 of us in for roasts at 19:30 on a Sunday evening. Under new management and called in on the off-chance of finding a pub in Ambleside that wasn't what pretty much all of the others are offering when it comes to food (some have even massively reduced their menus and one we have recently visited had stopped bothering serving Sunday Lunches!). Good selection drinks at a decent price for the area. Good atmosphere. Staff seem friendly and keep tables free and tidy right away.

Great place for a Sunday roast. Had a great meal there, a good sized portion of really tasty roast chicken. Gravy and veg combine to make a really enjoyable experience.
