Amazing food to takeaway! I went for the Burrito and it was substantial, tasty and surprisingly clean to eat on a bench in public. Definitely recommend the food counter. The shop has some delicious looking treats too!
we came here three days in a row to get things for lunch! The pies and rolls are all absolutely delicious and travel well in a rucksack for a long walk. The cakes were all delicious. Lovely to browse the rest of the shop as well.
Lovely little shop to have a look around, and these pastries were amazing! Was surprised at the price considering how good they were :) will be returning for more of these desserts 😋
Great for picking up interesting snacks, condiments, beer and finding little gifts - they have a mix of local products and other interesting finds. The Cannoli (lemon or pistachio flavours) was unexpected but so delicious (they also got the seal of approval from an Italian friend). They have food to takeaway on offer at the front, so we will be back to try a pie, wrap or burrito etc. Our group is vegetarian and there are lots of great options for us all.
Lovely deli with a great range of products and very friendly. Helped me work out which options I could eat as I am gluten free and dairy free. Falafels and Brookie were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back if we're in the area again.

We picked up lunches from here on 3 days. 1st time we had Frittata with salad, 2nd time Humus and slaw sandwiches and 3rd time mixed salad boxes, all I can say is thankfully they are 250 miles from home otherwise I would be the size of a house.
The frittata was one of the nicest I have had, served with a choice of 3 salads from the available selection, a perfect lunch whilst out walking. The humus and slaw sandwiches were exceedingly tasty but also exceedingly filling.
The salad boxes were amazing, simply select which salads you want (probably easier to say which ones you don't want) and they fill the box. We had enough left over from lunch that we had plenty to have with some falafels for our dinner
What a cute store, offering a huge variety of food products – wanted to take everything back to London with me if I had the luggage space. I will definitely be back when I'm in Ambleside again!
This is my new favourite spot in Ambleside. I had such a delicious frittata and salad today. Biscuits are also excellent. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Wide varity of food and condiments. The food we got was very tasty.
Great shop. Picked up some sandwiches for our hike up Scafell. Came back the next day to stock up on hamper goodies ready for Christmas. Lovely shop. Great local produce. Good selection of alcohols too with tonnes of local knowledge from the friendly staff.
