Cote How Country Guest House

Well where do we start. Our elopement at Cote How could not have been more perfect. We feel as if we are now part of a very special family and we honestly would encourage any couple thinking about an elopement/ small wedding to consider cote how. The house, barn and surrounding ground are just breathtaking and allow your photographer to capture some really beautiful photographs. Caroline and Rachel helped us plan our elopment in just over a month, as we opted for a short notice elopement due to the perfect date being available. Caroline helped us book the registrars to ensure we could go ahead with this date, as there was some uncertainty at the beginning, but thankfully she made it happen. Rachel showed us round the beautiful house/grounds a few weeks before the big day and helped us decide how the day would run. They helped us sort out the flowers and also gave advice on how we could announce our marriage to family / friends. It was so important to us to include our daughter in our day (she had not long turned one), Caroline and Rachel could not have been more accommodating about this if they tried. They ensured that all aspects of the day were tailored to her being involved. They were also so amazing with her on the day. I don't think we will ever be able to thank them both enough for what they did for us. Cote how is such a special and magical place and now holds so many wonderful memories for us as a family.

We recently got married at Cote How with immediate family in attendance, both of us wanted a small ceremony and we fell in love with the venue and location immediately. When asked by friends if we were stressed in the lead up to the wedding, the answer was no as Caroline and the team ensured everything was a smooth process from start to finish. Our day was perfect (even more so as the rain took a day off allowing us to get married outside) and the atmosphere on the day was relaxed which is exactly what we wanted. Thank you for making our day so special.

Me and Helen got married at Cote How in May 2023. Thank you so much Caroline for giving us the most perfect elopement wedding we could have asked for. From the start Caroline was so friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to eat, things to do and where to stay during our mini break in the lakes. We will never forget Cote How for as long as we live, it is almost fairy tale like how beautiful it stands and with the backdrop of the hills and lakes. We had been looking for a small wedding venue for a while and couldn’t believe our luck when we came across Cote How. It offered everything we wanted in a location which was so special to my husband, Jon. He had grown up holidaying in Grasmere with his parents and grandparents and to be so close by, it felt perfect. The setting is incredible, the lake, rolling hills in the background, native trees and flowers - everything that the Lake District is known for and Cote How has it all to offer. We can’t thank Caroline, Steve and Rachel enough for making our day so relaxed and special. Nothing was too much trouble - Jon and I, as well as all of our guests, felt very welcome and cared for. We made so many special memories at Cote How that will last a lifetime and couldn’t recommend it highly enough for those looking for a small wedding venue and intimate marriage ceremony.

Cote How was the perfect place for us to run away and elope to. We had the most wonderful time there! Caroline, and the team were fantastic. Not only did they guide us through what we needed to do when planning our wedding, but they were extremely helpful when we needed help; Caroline was really helpful during the early days when we were having issues booking our registrar. No question was too small, and they were all answered with the same enthusiasm. Not once did we feel overwhelmed and stressed when planning with Cote How. The venue itself is gorgeous! The view around cote how is so beautiful and the building itself has such a cosy and elegant charm to it. The pictures don’t do it justice. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony outside the barn and the décor we had for our elopement made it feel like such an intimate occasion. We loved the addition of hearing our own music playlist all around the venue before and after the ceremony, it made us feel more at home. Caroline and Steve were so calm and fun all throughout the ceremony which really put a nervous Bride and Groom at ease. We had so many laughs with everyone, especially during the windy confetti shots, that the afternoon didn’t feel alien to us, but felt like we were having a celebration with some friends. Thank you Caroline, Steve and Rachel. We cannot tell you just how perfect our wedding truly was.
