Excellent. We visited today for the traditional afternoon tea. Elegant space with relaxed atmosphere. We also found the music very appropriate. I have a nut allergy and the staff were thorough about it.
The afternoon tea consisted of smoked salmon and honey roast ham finger sandwiches, coronation chicken wraps and wraps with goat's cheese and pepper.
We were impressed with the fine patisserie cakes, especially the raspberry tartlet and the dark chocolate one. The scones were fresh and tasty. They were accompanied by cute little jars of clotted cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd.
We liked that the jars had a small amount of content as in our experience with other afternoon tea venues it usually gets wasted. We asked for a refill when needed and the staff were very happy to provide.
As a point of improvement we would have liked for the waiting staff to be a bit more attentive, as we had to get up to get their attention, but overall we liked the service and we will be returning!
I've been here many times and it's one of my favourite places to eat! Brunch or afternoon tea, everything is lovely. Presentation is top notch, the menu has plenty of interesting things and as a coeliac I'm completely confident in their gluten free food. A wonderful cosy place.
Lovely afternoon tea with delicious individual desserts, rather than just lots of cake!
Sandwiches and wraps both very tasty to start with and the scones are served warm.
Only negative and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the cream and jam are served in tiny pots and you have to keep asking for more, which are provided, but I can imagine if your there at a busy time you may spend sometime waiting for replenishments.
Will definitely be going again!
