Boones Pickins

On my visit, I tried burnt ends and pulled pork. Both were incredibly delicious and flavorful. The burnt ends were covered in bark that you just don't see at other BBQ stops in the area. The pulled pork had so much flavor on its own that it almost felt wrong to cover any of it with sauce. The location is small and cozy, and that is not a negative to me. With that comes extremely attentive service! There are so many sides to choose from on this menu, and you can't go wrong with anything you pick. The Mac & Cheese was simply fantastic. Worth a drive to come here, no matter if you live in West Wichita or even farther.

I stopped here for dinner one night during a week long road trip. Hands down the best food I had all week. I was hoping to go back for lunch the next day but had to leave town before they opened. If I'm ever back in Wichita this will be my first stop. Excellent food at a great price with exceptional service.

Outstanding BBQ! Made from scratch. Family owned. Awesome! **Update: 08/21/2020. Unfortunately the owners aren't doing much about COVID. We went in to have a sit down dinner as we love the food. Usually there are not a lot of customers. Well the night we went there were. None of the staff are wearing masks. The server, who is really nice, wasn't wearing a mask or gloves of any kind, nor was the cook who was waiting tables as well. There was no social distancing among customers or staff. They didn't sanitize tables between guests. Just a quick wet rag wipe down. I was really uncomfortable there. Probably too soon to eat out anyway, but it was also disappointing that the staff doesn't seem to be taking COVID seriously. Unfortunately, changing my rating from 5 stars down to 2.
