I love Burbidges bakery, The cakes are always fantastic and the staff are very helpful and polite. I always make a beeline for the bakery when I’m delivering in Andover.

Love this bakery used to call in on my way to work, couldn't resist! Going back to my younger days I used to work for Micheal Rogers hairdressers, as it was known then, near to Burbidges and I used to do the then Mrs Burbidges hair.

I’m not usually one to leave a review but I’ve been going here every now and then for a treat for years now, since I was about 10 until today being 24! Today I went in and there was a customer being quite rude to the staff. Thought the least I could do is leave an honest review about how excellent they are here.
The food is always incredible. Pastry is amazing, bread is beautiful, and the sweet treats are absolutely massive. I’ve never had food I didn’t enjoy. Whatever you get from here, you’ll love it. My personal favourites are the doughnuts, bread, and the sausage and bacon pastry things (no idea what they’re called, but the person serving me always knows what I’m on about).
The staff have always been so lovely. Whatever their hiring practice is it clearly works. I have anxiety and struggle ordering food. They’ve always been so kind and patient, no matter how busy the shop is (and it does get busy, for good reason!). It doesn’t matter who is serving me, they’ve all absolutely fantastic.
The prices are decent too. They could probably get away with charging a lot more for the quality and size of what they sell, but obviously I’m glad they don’t so I can buy more!
If you want anything specific, you’re best going early as they do sell out quickly. But everything they do is amazing, so if you go later you’ll still end up with something nice.
The only thing they could possibly improve on is having prices a bit clearer. This would just help to be able to budget and make buying an easier experience for people like me who get anxious and like to plan these things out. But, as I say, the workers are so lovely that not having the prices clear really isn’t the end of the world at all. There is no barrier to just asking!
Overall, a true 5*. I’d recommend going here to everyone (and often do)
Great business with heritage. This little gem of a bakery has been in business for years now and it a hit with locals and the tradesmen from far and wide who always know where to get a good bite to eat. The place always looks clean and staff are always friendly and helpful. Yes it may get busy but service is quick and efficient. Try the sticky lardy cakes or the legendary bacon rolls😉
Burbridges has been a staple bakery in Andover for 3 generations. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I have been here many times. On to the best bit. Staff have always been friendly and helpful with any questions I have. So my favourite here has to be the bread and cheese straws. The cheese straws they always normally sell out so go in the morning. I have tried most of the cakes/buns at some point in the last 10 years and they taste and feel fresh. They also do a square pizza ( just like they used to in school). Tastes just like I remember. All in all love coming here and never lets me down.
A beautiful little family bakery. The absolute yummiest. Delicious bread rolls, scrumptious cakes (my absolute favourite is the carrot cake) and the best bacon and sausage baps. One of our favourite family treats. We love the fact there is a live feed of what is happening in the back/kitchen. The vintage ovens on view are a wonderful piece of history. The staff are always so kind and friendly. Can't wait until our next visit.

This bakery, in my opinion, is the best in the entire area. Their selection of fresh baked goods, cream cakes, hot rolls and many others is unbeatable. It is clearly very popular given how busy it always is. If you are anywhere near, take a diversion and pick up some mouthwatering treats.
The meat pies are soooo good. Had some last week and, today, drove from Amesbury specifically to buy some more. Will be back.

They (Burbidge's) cram in a lot of bacon and sausage (and I mean a LOT), where other outlets skimp on the contents. The bacon and sausage are quality meat, always.
Full marks to Burbidge's. We will miss your bread and pastries. The best, bestest, bester-er bakery in Andover. You'll be hard to match.
Everything is so fresh and amazing this was my first time and the kind lady made it feel special and served me with a smile, loved the bacon n cheese I'm surely coming back.. super yummy
Simply put, the best bakery.
Freshly made, baked on site, delicious range of sweet treats and hot and cold savoury food.
The sandwiches are made from proper doorstep slices of bread with plenty of fillings, always delicious and freshly made.
Definitely worth a visit, and worth going out of your way to visit.

I’ve had a few bits and bobs from here over the years but today I sampled their bacon cheese turnover. What a beast! Loads of cheese and bacon. Perfect pastry too. Wish I’d got 2! The ladies are always super lovely too!!
