Review Fox & Pheasant Inn - Armathwaite

We stopped as we were passing from a afternoon hike to have a few beers and some food. Food was fantastic. They had a large selection of veggie food, as well as a good range of starters and regular mains. Service was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back while we are on our holiday.

Out for a family meal and there was a slight mix up with starters....more than made up for when the chef sent an additional 2 starters out free of charge for the mix up. The meal was delightful waiting staff were really friendly and approachable. A great selection of ales ...especially welcome on a warm day. All in all a very good dining and drinking experience in lovely surroundings. Will definitely be back soon

Great food, lovely ambience, but having been twice within five days we noticed that from the first visit to the second there price's had increased quite significantly - as much as £3.50 on one particular dish, having said this we will be certainly going back.

Popped along on bank holiday Monday. It was a nice day, plenty of outdoor seating and entertainment to suit everyone. There was a children's entertainer who kept the kids happy with lots of balloon modelling. A solo singer, James, kicked off the afternoon with plenty of big hits from the 60s-90s followed by a 3 piece band into the early evening. I didn't have anything to eat but everything looked delicious that I saw. Great community pub and well supported.

Lovely village Inn at Armathwaite in the Eden Valley. Plenty of covered and open outdoor seating infront of the pub. Inside its flagged floors in the bar area (great for dogs and walking boots). The beers were extensive and well kept. There's also a restaurant at the side. Luckily for us they're open on a Monday afternoon too! Staff were welcoming. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Liked it a very nice pub the staff were lovely. The pint of Cumbria Way was very pleasant. A very enjoyable finish to a brilliant walk in the Eden Valley, which is somewhere that I love to be.

We had completed the "Armathwaite Challenge" raising funds for the BHF and we all came here afterwards. We had the Sunday roast, one of the best roasts I have ever eaten, it was delicious. Very bust but we were well looked after by the staff.

Stopped here on a bike ride and had some fantastic food. We ordered the meat pizza and the black and blue burger. Service was great and we will definitely be coming back when we are next in the area!

Nice pub with good atmosphere and service. Food came out quick -but cumberland sausage and mushrooms were very greasy. Obviously both done in a fryer. The rest was fine.

Lovely location well worth the visit. Very oldie worldie country pub. Lovely inside and out service was ok could have been better we had the blade of beef Sunday dinner it were really nice beef melted, Yorkshire pudding were great ,nice gravy and roast potatoes the veg were very Aldentay. Pudding time I had the apple crumble with custard and the wife white chocolate and raspberry brulee nice but putting fresh raspberrys on top of a white chocolate brulee with none inside would have been better

Genuinely amazing inn with beautiful views. We enjoyed a lovely family meal and drinks whilst passing through. The food was second to none, generous portions, fresh ingredients and a great menu with something for everyone. The children's meals are also a great size and much nicer than anywhere else. The staff are welcoming and happy to help in any way they can. Very clean with a great atmosphere. We will be back very soon

A late call for an evening meal on a Sunday, we were looked after admirably, and the meal was first class. I'll be back!

Called in for coffee and a warm up in front of the open fire. Having checked out the menu we did opt for a snacket too. A good range of alcohol based beverages available. This pub is set in a beautiful rural village on the River Eden. Limited public transport is available by bus and train. The pub has its own car park located directly opposite, on the side of the road. The pub itself is very traditional in appearance both inside and out. Outdoor seating is available too. The facilities are very good, and clean. There are steps to each of the different rooms and toilets. It was exceptionally quiet on our visit which was mid week, daytime. Staff did recommend booking a table for meals towards the end of the week and at weekends.
