Perfect, perfect, perfect. My first visit for a meal in the restaurant and greeted by the most friendly waitress Sheila. She had a lovely calm manner. I arrived quite late at 6.45pm, The pub restaurant has a nice feel about it. I ordered the Beef Roast and when Sheila brought the meal out I was truly impressed, not only did it look great it tasted so lovely. I say this because recently I have been to two other country pubs and the roasts were terrible. I'm so pleased I have found a place near to where I live that has a Chef that can truely cook properly and nicely present the food, and Sheila the perfect waitress, like I said at the beginning perfect, perfect perfect.

We had a really good time here. Food was amazing and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Nice atmosphere, old country pub style. I had beef pie and veg which was delicious. My son had a proper stone baked pizza, probably the best we've had outside italy. Portions were large and we all left full. Sheila the waitress was very kind. We will be coming here again soon

Christmas Lunch at The Green Man - We had a really great, festive meal, which was a great alternative to cooking at home. I've never done lunch out on Christmas Day before, but this was good fun. Thanks to all the staff who couldn't do enough for us.

I had the chicken pie which was very tasty, but for me I prefer short pastry, although the size was large enough to feed a small family. Well done agreat meal.

A really lovely pub. Very friendly staff, and before we'd even sat down the staff had provided a bowl of water for my dog. The food was OUTSTANDING.

We walked up on the off chance after having a bad day. We managed to get a seat upstairs, ordered burgers and chips which were very nice. They were short staffed in the kitchen but you would never have known it as it all came out lovely and with not much of a wait. All very friendly and relaxed.

The food was really nice and the service was perfect. Lovely place to eat, and they have an open fire in winter, which is gorgeous

Coffee machine broken but we were still expected to pay the full price for mini pud and coffee minus the coffee. No kettle in the building couldnt even have a cup of tea. And final nail in the coffin the bell rang for last orders atb9.38 not sure I'll rush back and I'm a regular

First time eating here; was met with a very warm welcome from Carol that instantly made us feel at home. Staff were very polite and professional throughout and the food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend going out of your way to visit here for a family meal.

The house burger is the best I've had in the UK and the third best I've had world wide (and if you could see the size of me you would know it's high praise). I would have loved to give 5 stars but unfortunately three things let the pub down. The beer on tap was shockingly poor. I did drink 2 pints of peroni assuming the first was the first out of the line, but both were bad. The third was a Stella, better but still tasted tainted. The lager had a vinegary taste to it and a foul scent, I can't quite put my finger on exactly what the contaminant is but anyone who has had a bad pint will recognise it. You have to walk around the outside to get to the beer garden as they don't open the back doors (not much of a faff) My wife had the pie and she's quite unwell. This is the only difference in what we are in a few days so I haven't discounted stars for this incase it wasn't this pub but if there are a few reviews saying so, then I would look into it.

Came here on a Sunday and if you do the same be prepared to wait for your food. Whilst in my opinion the food was amazing the other people that were with me may not agree. One person ordered the fish & chips and the fish was very bland and she didn’t eat it but the chips were lovely, another ordered the roast dinner and liked it however the parsnips were very undercooked. I really enjoyed the halloumi fries and they were amazing but I received the wrong drink which wasn’t great. They could have done better especially with the wait that we had, but it was a pretty good meal and the pricing is not too bad for what you get.

Lovely restaurant. Staff very attentive and helpful. Food was very good. Only down side was they had a technical issue when it came to paying the bill and scanning loyalty card. Took time and eventually did not get scanned.

Lovely waitress, service was a little slow due to only one waitress and one barmaid. Thoroughly enjoyed my turkey pie, which was one of the weekly specials - really tasty mash, veg etc.. Let down by some really brown cabbage amongst the veg, which I showed the waitress. She informed me that she had told the kitchen, but there was no apology at all, which would have been polite. My friend enjoyed the steak, but the onion rings were done with very little batter so were extremely onion-y so he left those. I tried one and didn't enjoy them either, but perhaps others might enjoy them. The carrot cake cheesecake was really tasty. All in all a good meal in a pleasant environment, so much lighter and airer in there since the refurbishment about a year ago. I tend to eat here every few months or so and am not often disappointed.

Lady that served us was very polite, very smiley also recommend a wine to us, that was really enjoyable. We ordered a 10oz Rib eye, and pan fried sea bass. The food arrived very promptly, The steak was tasty but lots of gristle. Which made in less enjoyable. The pan fried sea bass. was bland and the skin had not be crisped up. There was too sauce, for me. Would have been nice to have in a separate jug or ramekins. The table we were given was between the kitchen and the waitress serving area and also a a area where the dirty dishes were put. So very busy and noisy place to dine. Deserts we good , but it would have been nice to have been able to have clotted cream rather than pouring cream on the chocolate brownie . Will still return, as we were made to feel welcome
