First time visit to this place after a recommendation. The staff are really friendly and the service is excellent. Food is definitely worth every penny and the pizza was one of the best I've had but the hidden secret is the loaded scoop chips, we had two portions one with pizza sauce and mozzarella and the other with cheese, bacon and spring onion, one word amazing. I would recommend this place to all who like good honest food with decent portions but booking is a must as the best places are always busy. Only one gripe is that they had no dark ales on but soon forgot about that when the food came (good pint of aspalls cider anyway).

A wildly impressive burger and a fantastic selection of beer! Staff are all very friendly and professional, serving a great selection of dishes in excellent time... and at a very reasonable price! I still can't get over how good the burger was, and the 'scoop chips' are just genius. The pizzas look delicious and the wife says her steak was perfect! Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. We will absolutely be coming back! Thanks to all the team for a memorable dining experience! God, that burger was incredible.

Honestly one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Everything we ate was delicious and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. I couldn't fault it if i tried.

A lovely pub in the Peak Distict. We both had the sirloin steaks and have to say they were cooked to perfection, so tasty! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely revisit.

We booked here as there is a good selection of food and we weren't sure what we would fancy on a Sunday before the drive home. In the end we both settled for the roast beef dinner although it should be called a roast beef feast from the over generous portions! I would suggest if you want anything more than just the main then you probably need to fast for 24 hours before visiting! Having said that I did also have the haggis and black pudding stack for started which was amazing. I'd have probably skipped that if I had seen the amount of meat you get with the main! Even the good selection of veggies were perfectly cooked and some of the nicest roasties I've had in a restaurant. Sweet honey and thyme carrots, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese were on the menu today along woth a crunchy yorkshire pudding that soaked up the tasty gravy beautifully. All the staff were friendly and attentive as well.

This is a real hidden gem. It looks like your everyday pub but the food is really great. They have brilliant quality steaks which were cooked perfectly and the other highlight for us was the fish and chips. It's quiet, easy going and casual. No airs and graces but can compete with the best in the area on the food quality.

Just popped in for a quick pint. Very good IPA quenched my thirst. I saw some people eating, food looked very appetising and smelled good too. Lots of people eating in the restaurant side of the pub - very good sign.

Adequate parking across the road. Friendly welcoming staff interact well with kids. High chair was provided. Nice warm cosy relaxing environment. Food was amazing by far the best pub grub I've had yet. I have no complaints atall. Great size portions. Would definitely recommend.

Proper good pub grub and the most welcoming staff. We had a three course dinner here and everything was top notch. First of all, we just have to say that the staff really make this place. They’re friendly, attentive and just can’t do enough. We feel like they deserve an award just for the service alone. The food is proper home cooked pub grub. You really can’t go wrong eating here. For starters we had the garlic bread and chicken wings. For mains, my partner had the beef pie and dauphinois potatoes. I had the prawn linguine. For desert, my partner had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the lemon meringue pie. With every dish there was nothing we could fault. It is incredibly popular so do book in advance. All in all, this is somewhere we would recommend and we will be back when we are in the area. Thanks to all the staff who made it such a lovely experience.
