What a lovely little tea room, friendly helpful staff, reasonably priced and excellent quality food. And the teapot was full to the lid, which is very rare in other establishments, with Lady grey tea, which you don't find as often as Earl Grey. Will definitely recommend and return.
Quaint little tea room where we enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea. A lovely fresh selection of tasty mixed sandwiches with salad garnish even coleslaw and tortilla chips on the side. Great cakes and homemade fruit scones with Jam and cream. Good supply of tea/coffee and milk too!!! Can’t fault it and certainly value for money....my mum loved her Birthday treat. Thank you ladies x
Had afternoon tea here, lovely cafe, very friendly staff, large selection of food & drink choices at great prices. Would definately recommend, will be going back in the near future
Been here a few times..lovely afternoon tea..very friendly staff..definitely highly recommend

Lovely quaint tea room. Friendly staff and cakes are fantastic, all at reasonable prices. Will definitely be popping in again.
such a lovely place amazing food relaxing and top quality service, Andy who serves absolutly top chap thank you
This is a lovely place, very friendly service and the chocolate brownie thingy is delicious. A nice touch was the little jug of water supplied with the black coffee in case it was too strong. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Ashby!
It is a lovely tea room and the staff make you feel so welcome. The scones are absolutely beautiful especially when warmed with jam and cream. Will be visiting again thank you for making a afternoon out a lovely one
We enjoyed a delicious gluten free afternoon tea here today. Friendly service and we will be back .
Fantastic fresh food with great service. A pleasure to have a coffee and chat with nice people.
Had an afternoon tea there for my birthday, it was lovely, nice peaceful place🙂.
Nice little tea room. We wouldn't have found it if we wasn't looking for it.
The service was great, the staff are friendly and chatty. We wasn't waiting too long for food,
We had jacket potatoes with topping they was cooked perfectly, and the coffee I would say is on par with places like Costa,
When we visit ashby again we will eat here again.
Nice little café just off the main boulevard. Good value food and when you go for a large coffee, it's in a cup large enough to swim in. Much appreciated!
It was a busy Saturday lunchtime when we visited, so there was a delay on the food (they genuinely were flat-out), but we were told that up front, which is great and we weren't under any kind of time pressure. The food was good when came and we had a very decent lunch.
Next level: the only thing I might ask for is a little bit of heating in the toilets. The main body of the café was nice and warm, but the gents was ... chilly. I appreciate it's not an easy trick to heat a small room which isn't occupied all that much and has running water, but it would just add that extra something to the experience...
Wonderful cafe, tasty hot food ,polite and friendly staff, highly recommended
Afternoon tea delivered a few days ago. The selection and quality was superb! A real treat. Fantastic carrot and chocolate cake. scones and cream, meringues, and the best chocolate tiffin ever. Thank you.
Found this delightful little place by accident. Enjoyed a snack lunch of proper home-made soup (stilton & broccoli), absolutely delicious and a fruit scone, again home-made which was better than I ever make! Owner & his wife both lovely & chatty. Would highly recommend. When we were leaving they told us they were shortly to relocate to nearby courtyard with bigger premises & outside space. They deserve to do well!
Best home made cakes and scones we’ve had in a cafe! Thanks Lisa &Lisa
A lovely ambience as soon as I walk inside. Friendly helpful staff. Good service. A very reasonable price. The food is home made and perfect. I will also highly recommend the chunky vegetable Hot Pot. Being very healthy too. Thankyou

Been coming here for a couple of years and it's never failed me and the wife . Best breakfast around and great value for money. Friendly family run this little gem and it's nice to grab a proper cup of coffee without the big brand prices and Jo's cakes and treats specially the scones are to die for. Of you want a good breakfast or small bite for lunch then rose cottage is your place to go also they put on some fantastic tea parties.
The most amazing little cafe, this cafe isn't super duper posh however they make up for it by being one of the most welcoming cafes! The food is really reasonably priced and all of it is of a very good quality! They offer over 26 different kinds of milkshakes (we had lime and wow it was good!) As well as waffles and sundaes! The staff are always welcoming and accommodating to anyone wishing to come inside! Would highly recommend!!
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, amazing food. Will definitely be back
Excellent service and food as good as always. Love the lights and the colour of the walls!
We called in for lunch and the owner was rushed off her feet but so helpful and friendly. Toasties were very good and were reasonably priced. Not as smart as the courtyard cafe but we were glad we called in there for lunch.
A visit to Ashby. So glad we came across this gem of a cafe. Warm, welcoming friendly ladies serving us. Gorgeous paninis and lovely coffee, all at a very reasonable price. We also got chatting to a couple of regular customers, felt part of the family. We will be back very soon. Thank you.
Lovely quaint tea room. Delicious soup. The Bakewell tart is to die for. As for the scones, WOW awesome.
I had lovely home made tomato and basil soup, with bacon, brie and cranberry panini. The food was excellent, service and atmosphere great and it didn't break the bank. We will definitely call again when passing through.
Had a wonderful cheese and ham toasted panini in this cafe today, have to say it was the best toasted panini I have ever had! Lovely cafe, friendly staff. The tea was also very nice and sat outside enjoying the glorious sunshine. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely home cooked healthy or naughty food whatever your in the mood for. Really helpful staff (helping carry push chair up stairs), books and toys for children and changing station with nappy bags and accessories is really a thoughtful touch. Need heating in this weather but otherwise perfect
Lovely little quaint tea shop in a great location. Spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed our pot of tea, nicely presented. Lots of homemade mouthwatering cakes. Sat outside in the sunshine and watched the world go by. Highly recommend.
