Visited today with my friend after shopping and loved it. The atmosphere was lovely as well as service and food was reasonably priced. Highly recommended š

One of my favourite places to eat in Ashford. Donāt be fooled by initial appearances. The decor isnāt fancy or over the top, but the place is clean and tidy. Rather than fancy mirrors, fake palm trees and steam punk lamps this place delivers great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. It reminds me of the honest decent āgreasy spoonā cafes of the 1980s - but the food here certainly isnāt greasy! Much prefer places like this where the money is invested in the service and food rather than somewhere else that charges Ā£9.99 for a poached egg on sourdough toast for the privilege of sitting on a futon and eating it off a plank of varnished wood.
I never leave here hungry. Canāt fault the food and the prices are competitive and value for the food you get. Everything is hot and cooked fresh. When itās quiet Iāve had my meal served in well under ten minutes. The first time I didnāt believe it could be cooked fresh - but it was; every mouthful was tasty and hot, even half way through I was still burning my tongue!
The staff here are all friendly and helpful. Iāve seen cafes with more staff than this run less efficiently, but here even when busy just one or two lovely ladies are rushing around delivering and taking orders so fast they just donāt seem to stop. And despite this Iāve never had a wrong order or been forgotten.
The only downside is I donāt live close enough to visit daily. But then if I did Iād probably be 5 stone heavier by now!
Ate here again today. They were very accommodating to my sons dietary needs and kept checking with us about all the food. I took my own buns in but they didn't mind, they appreciated it.
It goes to show, speaking to the venue about specific dietary needs, can certainly help.

I ordered two breakfasts to go, and a cuppa while I waited. A generous breakfast and cheerful service. I'd recommend eating in though. Its a clean and bright cafe with a friendly atmosphere.
Update: we ate-in this time. Friendly staff, excellent food and generous servings. I highly recommend the Cumberland breakfast. I added black pudding. Two nice thick slices cooked right. Still clean, bright and proper comfortable chairs. I'd cleared my plate again before thinking of taking a photo. This cafƩ is also approved by my wife, which ranks it number one in the area. I can't drag her anywhere else for an all day breakfast.
Sept 2023: 30C today so stopped here for a catch up with a friend over lunch. Great staff, great service and good value food. Thank you!

Having come to eat in here today,and to watch a waitress go and talk to a deaf couple what they wanted to eat,she took her time and understood what they wanted to order,there aren't many place like this that help out the disabled people or people with hidden disabilities.it was nice to see that people do go out your way.
To not only get your order right but the food tasted great.

I was in Ashford, googled āgreasy spoonā and this place came up. I was greeted with a smile, staff friendly and service efficient. I had a ātraditional breakfastā with a cuppa. Really good quality ingredients and well cooked (eggs spot on!) Nice to see a whole range of clientele, clearly loved by the locals. Definitely will be back. Cheers
We have visited the cafe couple times with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it. Portion size were massive, service was so friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back.
We pop in here most Saturday mornings, the staff are always friendly, and the service is always good, you don't have to wait long either for your order,we've tried quite few different places for breakfast, but none compare to cafe express, highly recommend.

Great latte. Has classic fixtures and fittings very retro. Customers become regulars with waitresses remembering their orders, greeting them with a warm smiles and wishing them a good day as the leave.
Great selection of food and the quality is good. Friendly staff. First Class you will not be disappointed.

Service and hygiene was excellent, staff are very friendly, polite, attentive and professional. Food was nice and we were served quickly. Very reasonable price and well worth a visit if you are looking for a quick bite to eat when shopping in Ashford
