Highly recommend visiting this place, staff are welcoming and friendly. The charity shop has so many unusual things and reasonably priced. Plenty of animal to see and the cafe is a must visit for the food - all vegan and tastes great.

Words can't describe how amazing this place is and how much my family and I enjoyed staying here. We stayed at the Donkey lodge for a weekend and it was such a great experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Enjoyed waking up in the morning, being around adorable animals and nature. But most importantly the animals are well looked cared for and seem content in a world where they are exploited, it's nice to see that few have found happiness. Definitely be visiting again soon

The Vegan menu offers an expanding/great choice. The Vegan food is simply delicious 😋 The best Cafe in the world when chickens are walking around us. Highly recommending this place. Being in the Retreat is like being in Heaven. This wonderful family are very welcoming and friendly. Seeing the Animals happy and free is so good! If you want to run away from stressful times, just spend time with the Animals. Their energy is PURE and Healing.

My daughter and I came last month and are going again today. Its such a lovely place to visit as we live locally. Its free entry, which is almost unheard of now days, so a great afternoon out with the kids if you have limited funds. The animals are well looked after and respected, the staff are always happy and helpful. The cafe is vegan. We are not vegan, but the food is utterly delicious. I can't stop thinking about the chocolate torte I had there, it was the best I have ever had. It's a wonderful experience to have peacocks around your feet when having a nice coffee. Overall, it is well worth a visit.

A fabulous day out - I love it. Spending time with the animals is always a treat, watching their different characters and the way they enjoy their environment. The food in the cafe is delicious (I had 2 cakes!). I like to have a mooch in the charity shop and always find something lovely. I purchased bird food from the shop and fed the array of different birds that were wandering around.

Wonderful fully vegan food at the café with a big menu. I had my 60th birthday party there complete with vegan prosecco. The proceeds from the café and on site charity shop go towards the upkeep of their rescue menagerie. Well worth a visit.

OK, so much to say....this place is amazing, wonderful, inspiring and fantastic for Vegans who love animals and ‘meat-eaters’ who want to! I can’t think of any other place that puts animals first like this place does. The love is everywhere and it’s catchy. You can get close to all these beautiful friends and really feel like the place is making a difference. The cafe is nothing short of fantastic too, as is the service and the food, which is all 100% Vegan. If you want your kids to understand and appreciate animals, their importance, their welfare and how they need our love and help, then this is it. Be sure to support them while you’re there as it’s free entry so donations are vital. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND ALL THE VOLUNTEERS, THEY ARE AMAZING1
