An absolute jewel of a find!
It's only just re-opened under new management and the quality and presentation of the food is something you'd find in a michellin starred establishment (but without the michellin starred price tag!)

Lovely country inn ,was made welcome as soon as we walked in was cosy and warm ,cute little bar, then tables otherside of the bar, excellent service, the food was delicious, broccoli and cheese soup to start ,gammon, 2 eggs and chips with peas ,then Lovely trillionares tart ,was a 2 for £20 night on
Not trying to be something it's not, this place does it really well. Simple, but tasty, and great value pub food. Friendly, helpful staff. Regular theme nights sound like they go down well too.
We were there for my best friends funeral, the service was so friendly and the buffet was excellent, tasty and lots of it, would certainly recommend to family and friends

Generous portion sizes and fantastic flavoured food.
Good quality dining. The take their wine list seriously too. Regular changing menu and good meat from Aubrey Allen. Ashorne is also such a pretty, quaint village.
We finally made it back here now it's under new management for a Sunday lunch.
Yummy! Lots of well cooked food and very tasty. Our dog Molly even got a little bowl of cut up sausage to eat!

Outstanding food, very friendly service, excellent selection of beers and great prices. Highly recommend The Cottage Tavern. UPDATE: we've just gone for Sunday roast for the first time since the new owners have taken over and the food was delicious! The portions are huge so make sure you're hungry!
We had a birthday meal here this evening. Proper home cooked food, that is hard to find nowadays.
It was so very enjoyable. There were about 30 of us and they did us a buffet with a large chicken pie, peas and (proper) chips. They also did a vegetarian hotpot, a lovely salad and there was apple crum
