Review Mela - Aston Clinton

Not having visited for over a decade, I was excited to try Mela again. What can I say? It has instantly become my Indian restaurant of choice. Absolutely outstanding dining experience. Yes it is about the food, which was exquisite, but also the service and the "vibe". Vibe in a restaurant is something you can't quite put your finger on, you can't always explain why it is there, but it is. Like a noisy Italian restaurant has a "buzz", very similar. Mela has this in spades, which makes the place joyful. Mustn't forget the food. I chose to start with some chicken tikka. It was moist and delicious, with great attention to detail - the side salad was dressed and interesting and I finished it all as it was so good! My main was the Mela "Special" Massala with chicken, rich, creamy, quite sweet, and served in a lovely copper bucket, and was absolutely amazing. I will be back very soon.

We had a fantastic experience at Mela last night. Not only was it the tastiest Indian I have ever had the service was absolutely phenomenal. I can not wait to visit again!

Came yesterday with a friend, was recomended by Joel to go for the Chicken Naga- excellent choice, great food and brilliant service by Joel who made us laugh!! Will come again

It was an absolutely fabulous dining experience as we celebrated my wife's birthday. It's the first time I have been to Mela and it certainly won't be the last, the food was excellent, the service and attention of the staff was even better. The Chef made me a soup that wasn't on the menu and it was superb. Having paid the bill which was very reasonable, I forgetfully left my wallet on the table - one of the staff quickly brought it to me as we were leaving, thank you all at Mela for making my wife's birthday meal Special.

The best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in a very long time staff are soo friendly but very busy place probably worth booking in advance

I ate here for the first time as part of a large group (30÷ guests). My perception from others who had dined here previously was that it was a good restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. We received a friendly welcome and the staff were great throughout. Being part of a large group can sometimes be problematic with timings at some restaurants, but not my experience here. We had a set menu and our food was prompt, hot and delicious. We had a good selection of food from mild to spicy, including a vegetarian dish, something for everyone. I would definitely reccomend trying this restaurant and look forward to going again myself.
