Review The Boar's Head Fife, Restaurant & Pub - Auchtermuchty

Could not complain one bit with the service. Staff were fantastic đź‘Ź. Bar manager came to explain the cocktails. Meals tasted great ,let down slightly on mash portion, and also the gravy was slightly watery. The atmosphere was good however a bit of a mix on the music. 100% recommended, though. đź‘Ś

Got a reservation just 1h ahead, glad we came. Service is lovely but they were a bit busy so not the best. Food is very good and apparently cocktails too (need to come back to try) However it was the 1st day serving the new menu and you could tell, scallop starter was delicious but the mains were annoyingly both (venison and monkfish I think) a bit over done. Superb dessert! So fresh and light. We certainly will return to try more delicious food.

Food at Boar’s Head was great. We had the pate to start and it was very well balanced, followed by the pork and beef Sunday roast. The roast vegetables that accompanied the Sunday roast were legitimately the best I’ve ever had. The roast potatoes were divine. We got the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake for dessert and it wasn’t what I expected- the raspberry and white chocolate weren’t mixed in the cake, but the dish is delicious and playful. Love the “Swiss cheese” indents on the cheesecake and the adorable white chocolate mouse is filled with a tasty raspberry sauce. Excellent meal, very satisfied.

Absolutely delicious food... some of the best I've had in a while! The scallops and venison were to die for! And the staff were so attentive and friendly!

Very accommodating to my Gluten Free/ Vegan diet. They made something especially for me. Food was very tasty, especially the roast carrots. Very friendly staff and great decor and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely wee place. We arrived without a reservation around 5:30. Looked quiet from the outside… but a warm welcome when we entered. The lovely guy serving managed to get us a table before the evening rush, as they appeared to have lots of bookings. Loved the layout and decor.. nice atmosphere and staff very friendly. Ordered the sole with risotto. Very tasty and filling. Quite pricey at £61 for two lime and sodas, two mains and a pudding, but would definitely return as throughly enjoyed the food.

We were in the area on holiday/birthday and read good reviews for this place, with the added bonus of being dog friendly. The service was friendly and attentive and the food tasted fresh and I could tell the chefs were passionate about the ingredients they used. Definitely worth a visit if in the area again.

I cannot recommend the Boar's Head highly enough. The food, atmosphere and decor is everything you would expect in beautiful gastro pub set in the heart of Fife and more. The staff are friendly and very professional in the correct proportion which is refreshing to see and treated us well from the moment we arrived. We had the Sunday lunch option, the beef and pork. Everything on the plate was excellent and clearly freshly made, both meat and veg were high quality not mention the Yorkshire puddings; to die for!! I was really impressed with the decor and the log fire was the icing on the cake which just added to fantastic experience. It is great see an independently owned business doing so well and their recent award for the best newcomer in The Courier is well deserved. If you are looking for a pub which serves quality food done the proper way...look no further!

Amazing gastropub - pigeon, venison, tatine, poached fruits - all incredible. Ross regaled us with his passion and expertise in cocktails. I would come again and again!
