Consistently good food. Nothing spectacular when you take into account all the taco places we have in the Austin area, but the nice thing is you always know the quality you will receive and that goes a long way. Service is always friendly.

Been eating here for around 15 years and it's always a solid breakfast taco for a fair price! Eggs never over cooked (like a lot of places do) and classic homemade salsa.

Taco Shack is an Austin icon. I've been coming here for simple and delicious breakfast tacos for decades. My go-to is sausage, egg and cheese and they consistently deliver quality every time.

I love Taco Shack breakfast. The owner at this location is always super friendly. Lots of options for breakfast tacos and the Burnet Rd Burrito is fantastic, if you're really hungry. Dining is limited indoors so be prepared to take it to go, or sit outside. It was too cold to sit on metal stools outside so we ate in the truck. Im a repeat customer over many years.

Hadn't been back to Austin for 20 years and breakfast tacos are the thing I miss most. Taco Shack was near the hotel, so decided to try it. I ended up going there every morning. They're just that good! Support this fine local business!

Best quality tacos and eggs in town—great breakfast tacos. The salsa is also excellent. If you absolutely love Torchy’s or Taco Deli, Taco Shack may not be what you are looking for; you’ll find here a far more classic approach. Perhaps without the nostalgic bonus, it’d be a 4 star review, but I grew up on Taco Shack!

The older lady who is the cashier has a horrible attitude, not welcoming at all and comes off as she does not want to be there. I called up there because of an error on my order. Instead of trying to resolve the issue she went back and forth with me. When asked why she was so upset, it wasn't her order that was messed up on. Her response was she doesn't eat there. I ended up making contact with the owner who refunded my money but the horrible service still remains. There was a couple of times I've pulled up, she's outside talking to a guy, looks like a florist van not totally sure, she comes in to take my order and doesn't bother washing her hands. There's a young lady that works as cashier some days and she's so sweet. It's sad that the older lady acts the way she does. So unprofessional
Update: The older lady is no longer there, the staff even seems happier and are more interactive with customers and the food even taste better. The best part is I now walk out as a happy and satisfied customer.

Tacos are great. I love the quesadilla! Location is a nice spot, especially from where I work. My only complaints are the whole "3 person limit" for being inside, yet there is no organization to it. Also, they don't have dine-in, patio seems like it might be available, but it appeared that no one from Taco Shack is cleaning or maintaining the outdoor dining area. (Um, hello germs?)
Ordering ahead online is nice, though the full menu didn't seem available most recently when I tried? So if you order on-site you're likely waiting 15 minutes. Food is great, though they seem a bit stingy with sour cream. Will definitely be back.
