The Scholars Restaurant - Aveley - Photo album

Love sir henrys. Last time went there on a fish night. Soft shell crab starter was super tasty, melting in the mouth. Prawn cocktail and calamari were okay, too. Really enjoyed fish and chips. The cod was massive and cooked just perfect. The new potatoes with halibut were buttery and sacculant, but
25 of us descended onto a very already busy pub/restaurant (60th birthday, pre booked food) it's a bit different from our previous visit many years ago, Pre drinks in large outside area went well with plenty of servers mingling, service was v good. Sat at 8pm, starters were bit slow to arrive(we did
The service was second to none. We dined outside, orders for drinks and meal ere taken without delay and were delivered at our table touts suite. departing guests tables were cleared straight away. Food was excellent apart from a runny egg which was replaced quicker than the hen could lay one. Highly
Well decorated through out, quite expensive, but friendly staff and delicious food. Did take a while for food to come out, all course... Starter main and dessert. Was there for around 4 hours waiting for food etc. No changing room for baby's.
Very impressed, we arrived without a reservation but they still managed to accommodate us. The place is expensive but is well worth the prices charged for the quality you get. Quality meals with specials that change daily. The place was busy but we were seated and served quickly. Set in an old fashi
I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment for Sunday dinner yesterday, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded flavors of their roast. Not only did they elevate the taste, but the portion size was notably larger as well! The experience left me absolutely stuffed with joy
Very busy but only waited a short while to be shown to our table for 9 seen straight away drinks order taken and served. Gave us time to catch up then order taken for starters and main. Was not in a rush so starters served within a suitable time. Staff in attendance checking if we required anything.
Hadn't been to Sir Henry's for some time and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and served in a very friendly manner. The lighting seems to have been greatly improved as it used to be very dark on the ground floor. All on all, an enjoyable lunch and we will be back. Thanks to
Great place and a lovely garden for summer (it's huge!). We got there on a nice Saturday afternoon without booking. They have speciality food days but bear in mind, when they run out, that's it. Get there early. I had to take off one star for very few vegetarian options and not a single vegan option
Went for Sunday dinner. We turned up an hour early as I was hungry. We were seated straight away even though they were busy. Much appreciated. Drinks order taken with a few mins. Food came in great time and was perfect. Service was perfect too. Beautiful setting. Thank you ❤️
Loved our meal, visited on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was full to the rafters, but the staff were still very attentive, although busy! Our food was lovely, I had fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly 🥰 I will definitely be visiting again xx
This is our second visit to Sir Henrys. This time, it was for Sunday lunch and a traditional roast. I must say the best in a long time. The food was fresh and hot and plentiful. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were on the ball in a very busy environment. We'll done we had a really lovely fam
Superb in every way. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the customer service was excellent at Sir Henry’s. It was our first time and will definitely go back. Thank you team 🤩
I had the salmon linguine and the creme brulee and my partner had the creamy mushroom pasta. All of it was so good. The sauce to my seafood pasta was so good I didn't want it to end. Recommend!
I went for lunch at 2pm on a Friday. We hadn't booked a table so waited about 15 mins. There is a bar area with a few tables for waiting in. I found the staff to be very lovely and my salad was delicious. There was a decent amount of crayfish and prawns, compared to other selfish salads I've had.
Very nice pub, and most importantly very clean. We was served by a girl called Sasha she was very friendly and her customer service was of a high standard. We asked her about cocktails which she took her time to suggest some good cocktails for us. All staff were very friendly which was nice compared
Lovely staff are always very accommodating. The food is very tasty and well seasoned. The food from starters to main course was good not too long of a wait in-between. Good free parking and very kid friendly. I will go back in summer to try their beer garden.
Surprised by this little gem of a pub. The setting is amazing, nice pond with ducks that the kids like, great interior and the gardens were really well kept and separated. Had lunch here, had the wagyu burger and it was delicious, along with the chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No hesita
