We went in for a dinner and got a great and fast service with nice warm and taste food. They know what exactly means dog friendly. The waiter stroked our dog (which is not easy because she is 60+kg and really rare to let the strangers to stroke her). Highly recommended place

Now easily our favourite place to eat in Aviemore. The food is very good and the service is excellent. Almost too much to choose from on the menu (which is a good thing!!) Always a busy place and recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Great atmosphere and suitable for couples and families. Also allow dogs, which is difficult to find in Aviemore.

Had a really nice meal. We thought it was odd that we booked a table and then we were placed right beside the TV while a football match was on, it is a sports bar though I think. Was not a peaceful meal due to the football crowd. I wouldn't bother with the sharing nachos. It is a truly gigantic portion and there is nothing else special about it, just a large basket full of standard nachos with cheese. For £15 I was expecting home made nachos but oh well. Handy they have their own parking as Aviemore is really busy, also the food was nice and it was easy to book a table online.

Great pub, set up for eating over drinking. But, it has a warm fire, friendly service, and fun atmosphere. Recommended.

We called in here for an evening meal, and although the menu wasn't huge I have to say that we were not disappointed. There was 6 in our group and all of us agreed that the food and service was excellent. We ordered fish & chips, bangers & mash, Bally burgers, chicken burger and pizza, all of them were extremely tasty and piping hot. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place for food & drinks.

Typical small room you find in a pub. It was clean. Little noisy but that's to be expected until closing time. Was a good stay because the staff are excellent and the breakfast was very nice.

Very friendly staff and while we didn't have a room here we did have food and drink for a couple of nights. The cider was rather charming but the steak and ale pie was to die for, the steak was so tender and melt in your mouth.. the chips were perfect as well. If we were here longer I might get to say something about other things on the menu but I can't. 2 nights and I had to have the pie twice ha ha

If you're looking for good food with a great ambiance then The Balavoulin in Aviemore is the place to go. I was recommended by a few work colleagues to go but highly recommend booking ahead of time as they book up really quickly. It almost feels like the local village pub where everyone knows each other and all the visitors become friends and chat away. They have a great menu full of delicious favourites to fill you up after a day outdoors. We had the chicken burger/fish and chips and it all tasted great, full of flavour and served in large portions. It would have been rude not to opt for desert so the sticky toffee pudding definitely finished it off, I can't rate the Balavoulin high enough for the quality and price of the food. Once we had finished our dinner, there was live entertainment which got everyones up dancing along. It was a great evening and really made for a great Saturday night in Aviemore. Can't wait to be back!

Probably the only pub to play sky sports football in the area. Called to watch the Liverpool Vs Newcastle game. Good selection of beers and plenty of screens to watch the football. Only downside was that Aviemore hosted a Harley Davidson convention the same weekend and was plastic cups only.

What a fantastic wee place, busy on a Wednesday evening which is always a good sign. Dog friendly which is a massive bonus when up exploring the Highlands. Food was amazing, nachos were delicious and the steak pie incredible with lots of beef. Burger was equally good. Portions are large so come hungry! Prices are excellent for the area and the staff friendly.

Can't say anything about the rooms, we only dropped in to borrow the rest room for the girls and then decided we might as well sit down for some local Gin and tonic to enjoy while we waited for our hotel rooms to become available. Friendly staff and honestly wished I'd had more time to come back here.

Good atmosphere, nice to sit and have drinks in - claims to serve food all day but really its only for quite select hours so be aware that they might not be cooking when you're there
