Review The Lamb Inn - Axminster

What a great find! First off, the food (Scampi & Chips and Chicken Curry) was perfect. Service was friendly and got better the longer we were there. The tea and pint were perfect - and I now have a new favorite beer in England. The space was neat with tons of outside seating. All of that made for a lovely experience that deserves a 5-star. Beyond that , though, we’re the locals in the bar chatting that saved us a great deal of frustration and time. We have to say thank you to the geniuses at the pub who helped us with our parking situation. They knew the best place to get a spot right near where we stayed.

Played skittles here a couple of weeks ago. Great alley but a little cold. Staff were great and skittles food good. There were two TV screens showing sport too and a pool table, bonus..

I finished work a little early, so as I was passing Axminster I decided to pop into The Lamb to see the lovely Bel, & see what beer she had on the bar. I chose a pint of Sunshine Reggae from Fine Tuned Brewery, Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton. It was a great choice, golden, fruity, bitter sweet, not over hoped & in good condition. Yummy!

Smashing little pub. Friendly staff with a reasonable selection of beer. Toilet was clean. Okay it's not the Ritz-Carlton but it is a friendly little pub. I'd be happy to stop in again.

Always friendly little pub, lovely beer garden, I've only ever had a baguette there but it was great. If you're passing, pop in

What an amazing pub, we were down on holiday and needed somewhere to watch the championship final, the landlady and all her staff made us feel so welcome and the food was lovely. One thing you do need to be aware of ensure you pre book taxi if you need one as they are quite difficult to get hold of.

Lovely atmosphere, great food and drink and very friendly staff. Just eaten roast dinner, one vegi, one normal. Well made, good portion size. Chef and owner came out to garden after service had finished to check back with customers and made sure everything was OK. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and able to have a banter when appropriate. The garden is large and layed out well so everyone can feel safe away from others. Would totally recommend that you visit here.

A wonderful pub with a lovely setting. Bar staff very friendly. Would highly recommend, prices good too (but we are Yorkshire!).

Turns out that this is an old school pub with more emphasis on drink and less on food than we had anticipated. Adrian was ever so friendly and helpful and, it turns out, that they were geared for diners. The menu was simple with lots of offerings, including a surprising number of veggie and vegan options. The nut roast came with chips and salad and was surprisingly good. Portions were adequate for me, a big eater, and large for my wife. The prices were very reasonable and the receipt came hand printed. This is a very simple, laid back, unpretentious place and we would absolutely go back again. For us, Americans, who are used to cookie cutter dining experiences, this was a treat.
