Seven of us had a meal last night, cooked by Josh and Anna(?). Food was lovely abd my steak was cooked as requested. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and agree that it has massively improved in the last year. Simon, too, is great in the kitchen. All the staff are very friendly; need a few extra staff behind the bar now and then to speed up the service but that's because of the budget they are allocated by HO! It's my local and I think it's great. Thanks Ross!!

Local national chain pub, sizzling pubs, similar to hungry horse, Harvester etc. No real personality like the old "local" pub but seems popular with the locals. While we were in the pub, midday, it was very steady and a lot of customers were ordering food, breakfast being popular.
Staff both cheerful and helpful.

Me and my partner just had a lovely lunch at the plough Larayne served us. She is a lovely lively lady. Very attentive.. we both had steak which was cooked to our liking and very tasty the ribs were lovely. My partner had the mega mixed grill which is really enjoyed the sausages were very tasty. (He’s a fussy sod usually) highly recommend their :)

Friendly staff. Great food and all at a reasonable price. Would recommend. As for improvements there’s not a lot that needs improving for me as found it quite perfect as it was

The food was lovely. The staff were very quick and great. Possible a uniform would look smarter. The hanging baskets brightened the place up out side. Think the place needs a little bit of TLC. From my table the door was open to disabled toilet !! Normally there are 2 doors so this can’t happen. Not sure if the door had been taken off or never there before toilet door. The kids play area all tapped off which was a shame for the kids. . The worst thing was the app to order from the table 🤦♀️ we are both computer people but this was not user friendly but we got there in the end but think I would go to the bar next time. Lol That’s why 8 think there is room for improvement but the quality and portion size of the meals kept it an 8

Great service- very friendly.
Great food. Good value for money.
We asked if possible for a quieter table as my son has sensory difficulties and we were given a table in a quiet area.

Enjoyed a two course, the After Eight sundae was lovely. I dined alone and Di was good to get me a table although most were fully booked.

The Plough is a really great place to go, yes it is pub food BUT it's cooked and presented in a way that makes you want to eat every last morsel! Have been here many times but usually at lunchtime and service is excellent! The seating arrangement in the restaurant means you can talk, walk to the bar without being bothered by other people's conversation. The whole pub looks fresh, modern and cosy. The staff are SO helpful and pleasant. The food, of which there is a tremendous variety, tastes fresh, looks delicious and is plentiful. This is our 'go to' place to eat especially when it's comfort food you crave.

Fabulous lunch for 5. Everything was cooked and presented to perfection. Well done Chef. Service was 'spot-on' and a happy atmosphere prevailed.

I have only been here for breakfast (twice now) and have never walked away unsatisfied. In fact, I tend to crawl away because of the amount of food I have eaten! The Sizzling Breakfast (£4.99 + £1.00 for bottomless tea / coffee) is a very suitable amount of food. The Ultimate Breakfast (£9.29 for the food) is a very, very large sizzling platter with an inordinate amount of food, at the end of which you will a) have the meat sweats and b) need a stretcher to transport you home. Not recommended for people with small appetites, hangovers, or anyone who has had any food in the last 24 hours. If you think you can handle it, I would totally recommend it though.
I have not yet had lunch or dinner here, but the menu is solid, good "pub grub", with the odd modern twist or flair where appropriate. There's a kids' menu, a good selection of desserts and a 'Golden Oldies' menu for which, frankly, I cannot wait to get old, since it's got some great choices!
Service is friendly (if not the fastest), the decor is nice, and it's perfectly clean throughout. The pub is fully accessible for wheelchair users; the outside terrace and garden are dog-friendly; the car park is probably big enough for most days.
What would I give the 5th star for? Just a few little things: add Black Pudding to the breakfast menu (I know that's a decision to come from Head Office, but please tell them!); don't burn the sausages (only happened once, to be fair); and make the Sunday morning music choice a little more... mellow.

Visited this evening. Having waited an hour for our food to arrive, it finally arrived (lamb kebabs & mixed grill), however on presenting our meals the lamb kebabs where totally burnt! The waiter apologised and said they would prepare a fresh dish. How can burnt food be allowed to leave the kitchen in the first place. Where is the quality control? Subsequently, as I had to wait for the dish to be recooked both my husband and I had to eat at separate times. At no point whilst eating our meals did anyone ask if our food was ok despite the fact I had complained about one meal. Very disappointed!! Due to the fact all food is pre-paid, its obviously a way of guaranteeing payment regardless of food quality standards. Such a shame local pub is very touch and go on food standards!!

Went to the Plough last night with family including two children. Ordered at the bar to be told they had no burgers and that there would be a 35-40 minute wait for food. We accepted this and placed our order making a point that the two children’s meals should come out with the starters we had ordered. It was literally 40 minutes we waited and by this time the children were tired and very hungry. The order came out and the three adult starters came out and one child’s meal. We made a point that one meal was missing and the waitress went to check.
I started to eat my meal and found that the mushrooms starter I had ordered was barely warm and my grandsons chicken nuggets were very dark and over cooked we attempted to gain the wittess’s attention but without success until some fifteen minutes later my granddaughters meal arrived. This was much better cooked but lacked substance, my grandsons plate had seven nuggets on and my granddaughters only had three. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said she would check. We heard no more from the waitress until she came to take the starters plates ready for our mains. We waited nearly 25 minutes more for our mains to arrive which meant from time of ordering well over an hour. The food looked good as we began to eat it but both my daughters and my ribs were very hard and inedible. We were unable to complain or speak to staff as they appeared to be very thin on the ground. I spoke to a waitress as we were leaving the restaurant stating that the ribs were left because we were unable to eat them as they were tough her only reply was OK.
The service and food was well below average, it was a Tuesday evening and the place was not even busy

Food was amazing.
Staff were very friends and but under too much pressure to cope...
Pub and restaurant was smart and clean.
Place is understaffed massively, need a minimal of 2 people behind the bar and a host of waitresses, and kitchen staff.
15 mins to just get a drink, first course with an 1.5 hr wait and 3 of the 6 dishes came out wrong cause the left hand is not talking to the right hand, yes they did Rectify very fast, puddings another 1.5hrs, and came out cold had to be remade.
Overall 3hrs for 2 courses, if we were told there is a long wait then acceptable but we came in when it was pretty empty, the place needs a new manager, one who has a back bone and enough staff to build a team of staff whom all work together, to meet demands in busy periods, ended up with the poor guy behind the bar making and bringing out the puddings...
Was very disappointed as this was meant to be a kids birthday meal... we did get a full refund, and let's face it the value of the meal would have covered someone extra for the whole day to serve and stop this happening...
If service levels were bang on you never could fault the place. Think about it this place used to have a exceeding high reputation for a 5 star service, the guys working in there today were under too much pressure and they done there best, I would be surprised if they returned tomorrow as I bet for them it's soul destroying.

Cold unorganised meal not cooked correctly! children’s meals came last and were to hot for them to eat children’s desert took over an hour after making a complaint.
Food not served in appealing manner over all a waste of time effort and money.
Staff had no interest nor were they apologetic with the many issues and complaints.
The longest three hours of my life!

Visited 15th June 2018 - I have to say I was very disappointed as the Plough is usually really good!! We ordered Drinks, unfortunately, they had no Wine Glasses!! Oh well, we just changed our order, so not a really big deal. However, it then got worse. We ordered our food, which was 3 Messy Mexican Chicken, (we asked if we could have Sweet Potato Fries and hold the Corn, there were no Sweet Potato Fries!) Half Roast Chicken and the House-Fried Corn Nachos to Share. Really looking forward to the Messy Mexican Chicken, smothered with beef chilli.
Our food arrived and looked yummy, but yummy turned to disappointment, when non of the Messy Chilli Chicken had any beef chilli........no problem, we thought we would just let the waiter know (who I have to say was extremely helpful) the waiter apologised and asked if we wanted him to take it away or just get a bowl of chilli for us to share and we opted to share a bowl of chilli, no biggie. However, the Chef sent him back out after telling him that there was chilli on the meal......No there wasn't, there were, however, a lot of kidney beans. The waiter seemed a bit embarrassed as he could clearly see there was no Beef Chilli.........

Was in the small private function area to the rear of the bar for a family gathering on Tuesday. Outstanding service, tasty, well presented buffet laid on for us. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and the place was absolutely spotlessly clean!! Received a very warm welcome. Very nice atmosphere x

Food was ok even if it was a 45min wait and not told this! Bar staff lovely! I dont mind being told nicely to ask my children to calm down etc but the way i was spoken to when actually my group of children had only just finished eating there dinner nicely after a 45min wait and went to play on the grabber machine... to be then asked by the manager "are they all ur kids?" Looking me up and down.. whole body language apaulling! I replied "yes some but we are a group!" Then to be told "can u tell ur kids to stop running around like headless chickens" (they were not and had only just finished dinner) then to proceed in telling me that they arent running a creche!! Now im not a person who will say my children are all well behaved at all times but to be spoken to in that manner was bad practice and darn right rude! Considering the kids before us had broken their inner front door!! Disgusting! Would never step foot back in that door! Oh and my son eating his dinner by the window killed 7 yes 7 flies whilst eating! The window was swarming with them! Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like

Not a great meal , not one person asked us if meal was ok and not even when the plates were picked up did they ask. We told them it wasn't the best meal and the lady said ok I'll tell the chef. Unfortunately they have def lost our custom for there future ...

The food in the plough is amazing and staff are really friendly great family pub

The food is generally ok. It's the 50+ minute wait that annoys me! Since they reopened following refurbishment, despite having the same staff and similar menu, they have been very slack on food delivery the last 3 visits and every time the excuse has been the chef didn't turn up. No aplogy offered or refund unless you ask for it! Sort it out.
