This place is a rare find. Friendly, cheerful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Food is excellent. Good menu, lovely fresh produce, compliments to the chef. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, both room and bathroom spotlessly clean. You could not beat it. Well worth a visit.

We stayed here on Saturday night, the room was fantastic, modern yet cosy. We had the best breakfast I think I have ever had at a venue and the staff were very friendly and super helpful....I would highly recommend a visit x

Lovely, homely pub- type hotel close to Bristol airport. A change from the Holiday inn. Friendly staff and cosy warm atmosphere. Excellent food from posh burgers to sea bass and steaks. Newly refurbished room of high standards I would highly recommend The Rising Sun.

Fab little place. Visited Saturday night, without booking was seated immediately. Food was super quick and delicious. The service was amazing. Had dinner at the Marco Pierre white steak house grill Cadbury house the evening before, and it wasn't a patch on this place. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area

What a lovely place to visit. Brilliant staff, Sarah and Molly, are genuinely nice people with great customer service and baraista skills. The food here is amazing. The garden is great for the kids with a big play area for the kids. Disability serves available and will cater to your needs. I will return and advise you to do so also.

Rooms and location are wonderful! Check in was easy and the gentleman that checked us is (assuming it was the manager) is very helpful and kind. Sunday roast was served bearly warm and dry, I'm sure it would have been lovely fresh. The breakfast took 45 minutes to come out after having to ask for it and then it had been sat on the pass for so long the bacon could be used to drum a tune on the plate. The poor server had to tell us that the hash browns still weren't ready and he would bring them out when they were done. The chef (who came out into the dining room to cough up a lung) had obviously not put the fryers on ready for service and the hash browns came out inedible with raw frozen potato inside and swimming in a pool of its own oil. Probably just bring a packed lunch next time.

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Delicious food and an excellent location for the airport. We popped in for food and really enjoyed ourselves. Sadly we found the accommodation too expensive for a 12 hour stay (06:00 flight) but it would be perfect for anyone staying longer.

I made a last minute booking here ( on a recommendation) as I was delayed in the area on business. Great room, nice food, massive garden & big car park. Service from everyone I met was excellent & they had a well stocked bar & cellar. Doesn't look like much from the outside ( don't be put off ) but the people involved clearly care & are great at what they do. Excellent really.

We stayed here before flying out of Bristol, ideal location as only a nine minute drive to the airport. The food in the evening was really tasty, the pie was an object of beauty! All the staff were friendly and helpful, Simon the manager was great too.

We visited for Sunday lunch in September and had a lovely experience. The staff were welcoming, attentive and professional. The food was excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to come back. In fact, when we move to Backwell I expect we will be regulars.

Drove up from London to settle my son into his new home. We wanted to have some dinner before heading home and stumbled across this pub, and so glad we did. The pub, the atmosphere, the staff and the food were exceptional. When we arrived, we were told the food may take a while as only one chef and apologised straight away. Me and my boy ordered fish n chips (yum)with a side of onion rings, not gonna lie, best onion rings I've tasted. Also homemade tartar sauce 😋 👌 my husbands had the gammon and chips and really enjoyed it. I would 100% recommend this place for something to eat. They are also a hotel and will definitely stay here when we next visit.

We celebrated my daughter’s christening here with a Sunday roast. There were 21 of us so a large group and we were catered for brilliantly! The pub were very accommodating and efficient with helping us pre-order our food so everything ran smoothly. Very friendly staff - thank you for a lovely experience!

Easy check in with free parking. Room clean and pleasant addition was a fan to help keep room cool during the night as no air conditioning. Had early flight but the lady checking us in arranged for us to have a breakdown before we left which we appreciated very much. Evening meal was also good value for money with reasonable bar prices. Only took 15 mins to get to Bristol Airport. Would recommend.

Popped in here before heading to a hotel at Bristol Airport. Had a lovely meal here with the family. The manager (possibly owner?) was super friendly and accommodating. Well priced, and good food. We’ll be back!

We booked a table at this restaurant while we were waiting for my mother in laws flight to arrive in Bristol airport. The owner / manager and staff were very helpful and friendly. The flight was dreadfully late and we ended up back at the restaurant much later than anticipated. I have to say the team were so helpful and accommodating. They were full of smiles and the service was fantastic. To top off the evening the food was also fantastic. The menu has a great choice of dishes and reasonably priced. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great place and good location not too far from Bristol city. Large and spotless room, v-e-r-y dog friendly and very accomodating when need to store food in the fridge. Excellent breakfast (pictures) and service. Large parking area so no need to rush at the end of the day to find a parking spot. However, two points to take note: a) bring earplugs as the majority of rooms are on the road side and traffic starts just before 6am b) bring blindfolds, the room is not fully dark at night (especially in June) has blinds but not curtains and you might be bothered by the light early morning.

Great location for those early morning flights, arrived at just gone 9pm and they had already done last orders on the bar which was a bit of a shame and on checkin to the hotel as I mentioned I was leaving earlier was told if I’d like they can leave some breakfast items out for me and I wouldn’t be there for Normal breakfast house so I kindly accepted but on leaving the next day nothing had been left out for me. But overall good stay.
