Great carvery, paid at the bar then got a voucher to go into the carvery and be served at the counter. Portions are very generous and the food quality is top notch! Probably the best roast dinner we’ve ever had out! Value was quality too at £13.95 per adult carvery. Did get busy from 12:30 onwards so worth booking to avoid missing out. Nice family run business!
Martin, Adrian and the team made us feel very welcome. We were a walk in group of 6 with 1 wheelchair user on market day so busy with farmers but we still felt well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent, tasty, well cooked large portions. A variety of meats with other options on offer. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Planning a return visit.
The thing that really impresses you is the genuinely welcoming family feel as soon as you walk in the door and throughout the service. Every part of the meal is home made and at really reasonable prices. If you have a family to feed or just love your home made style roast dinners this is the perfect place.
A lovely Sunday carvery, very friendly staff, very good price for a family of four with drinks £48. Excellent value and will definitely be returning. Thank you for the ice cream for my little girl she thoroughly enjoyed it.
We went on a Sunday for a carvery, didn't book and they were very busy, we had to wait until a table was free and got in before they said. We did have to queue up to get food and this probably took the longest. Food was nice, beef was lovely and tender, only downside was broccoli not cooked enough for our liking, have to say every member of staff that we spoke to was great and friendly. Can see why the locals love it.
We came in today for a carvery in a party of 8 and the team were so welcoming and accommodating even though we hadn't booked a table! It was a fantastic experience all round, the team make us feel as though nothing was too much trouble and they can't do enough for you, it was the best customer service I've experienced in a long time! The carvery was also delicious and the homemade puddings are amazing! Really reasonable prices too! Looking forward to visiting again soon, absolute little gem in Bakewell.
An amazing carvery, Martin and his team so friendly, we hadn’t booked turned up and just had to wait for a table but we’ll worth the wait, I just can’t recommend this enough one the best carvery we have had excellent value for money.
What a gem of a place. The portions are enormous and the food is fantastic. My husband, daughter and I visited for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. The café has introduced a range of COVID-19 protection measures including the usual party registration on arrival and all staff were wearing PPE. The carvery area is screened off behind perspex. One table is called up at a time to keep everyone distanced and you can choose what you want to eat from the wide carvery options available (food is plated by the staff). The puddings were as delicious as the roast dinner. The carvery is £8 for adults with reduced prices for OAPs and children. The whole meal including puddings and soft drinks cost us £33. Unbelievable value!
We had a family lunch here on Easter Sunday for 15 of us including 5 children aged 2 - 6. We were delighted with the whole experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful coping with various dietary requirements. They had a lovely manner with the children making them feel special.
The food was plentiful and good and the traditional puddings made us all forget calories for a day.
I really hope to return sometime with my local relatives. Thank you
I can't really comment, as we couldn't get in. But the food looked delicious and the prices were reasonable, unlike the centre of Bakewell. We ended up at The Woodyard pub. Staff very friendly, food ok, price a little on the high side. But then it is a tourist place.
