Stopped in on a short visit to Ballater (charming little village). Lovely coffees and cakes. A little background music might lift the atmosphere. But worth a visit if you're in the area.

This is a very simple breakfast and lunch cafe with basic sandwiches, friendly service and amazing homemade deserts. The prices are very reasonable and they have a good selection of drinks. Parking can be challenging but there are a few public lots nearby. Worth a stop for the deserts alone!

Very good experience as always. Food was amazing, couldn't fault it. Butchers products used and homemade cakes đ. Very friendly staff who were happy to help. Only slight niggle was there was no hello on entry and had to ask staff member if we could just take a seat. Seen a few people walk in and linger awkwardly with no interaction from staff. But... it was a very busy day and when I spoke to staff they couldn't be more helpful. So this is a very very minor problem, wish I could give service 4.5 stars.

We stopped off in Ballater and saw this cafe. Looked quaint. Quiet on a sunny Saturday afternoon and the staff were very nice. Only gripes were re the cake choice (only orange cake which was nice enough although perhaps a little dry). Great big slice. Coffee and tea very nice. Would definitely try it again if we are in the area.

Lovely little cafe! Friendly and efficient staff. Best toastie I've ever had and great Latte too! Wish it was closer to where I live, as I'd be a regular visitor. Highly recommended â„ïž

Lovely wee cafe with excellent food. A small basic snack lunch menu (see attached pics) but interesting surprise items such as mars bar scones. There is only 10 tables including some comfy chairs. Next time you are in Ballater pop in for a coffee and cake or haggis pannini.

Amazing food, the tattie scones are awesome! Lovely, friendly staff are attentive, but not intrusive.
Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in the area!

I thought I will have coffee here as it seemed totally empty. But when I walked in, a lady welcomed me in and eventhough almost all the tables were reserved, she gave me a very good table, thoroughly enjoyed my very hot latte, I like my drink hot. Though they got my order wrong for the cheese toastie , got white bread instead of brown, it was delicious. Very friendly and helpful waitress, it was fun to watch old ladies and old gentlemen walking in and rushing to sit down as if to catch up on their Tuesday morning chit chat. I now understood why most of the tables were reserved. Thought ÂŁ9.10 for a white bread cheese toastie and latte a bit expensive though.
Would go again but would just have the coffee. Worth a visit!

Popped in by chance with my dear aged mother and we could not have been made more welcome. Although it was quite busy, but they said, âWeâll clean down that table and reserve it for you until you come back with your mumâ ⊠everything was tidy and clean along with excellent attentive service. As an experienced hospitality manager (from a previous life!), I know at a glance when the waiting staff are highly competent as they keep busy and have achieved that balance between being polite and hospitable and yet being professionally efficient.
All the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order - the cakes looked great too and were reasonably priced. We had toasted sandwiches and they came with a side salad and freshly prepared coleslaw on the plate (why would you buy in coleslaw when it is so easy to make and tastes so much better?). Iâll be back!
