Great range of flavours with some interesting options. I had an amazing dairy-free chocolate ice cream that tasted like chocolate brownies! Their sorbets are also really nice and light.

We stopped by on the way home from a bike ride. The ice creams were delicious and they had a great selection for vegan friendly icecream which was great for me as I have a dairy allergy and don’t usually get to have an icecream other than a vegan magnum. Lovely wee shop and we would go back if in the area again.

Arrived in Ballater at the start of a holiday (staying in Dinnet) on a glorious sunny day. Having just bought provisions from nearby H.M. Sheridan butchers, it would have been rude not to taste the local ice creams.
Wow - the waffle cones are huge, crisp and yummy alone but the massive scoop of vanilla was to die for. My partner had mint chop chip, which was as equally big and scrumptious.
Can't recommend high enough.

A lovely wee ice cream shop in Ballater. Friendly, helpful staff who are happy to give recommendations. Lots of flavours available and the ice cream is all homemade. Dairy free and vegan options available too. I even managed to get my dog a wee scoop which they topped with a dog biscuit too.

We had a strawberry sundae and 2 scoops chocolate absolutely fantastic i would rate it as nearly the best ice cream in Scotland 5 star review staff very freindly & polite, prices very reasonable, we loved the dog waiting outside for her icecream 😂😂😂

Shorty’s is a rare jewel in the crown of Royal Deeside. The owner is one of the nicest people and has such amazing creativity and flair.
She recently made a bespoke ice cream cake for my daughters 8th birthday which was truly amazing. The detail was perfect and the flavours where to die for.
We are so lucky to have this wonderful business in the heart of the Cairngorms!

Still the BEST ice cream I've ever tasted. Been all around the world and have yet to find anywhere that can compete with Cheryl's ice creams. No where can touch it. I'm an ice cream fanatic and have a good pallet for flavour. It's going to cost me a fortune in travel once I move. It's the best. Just about to tuck in to some chocolate nero (vegan friendly) It's to die for and I NEVER eat chocolate ice cream EVER! Also the Ballater creme which is heaven😍 A real asset to Ballater and anyone who supplies Shorty's. Keep going Cheryl. xx
