Very good quality, could even say the best around. They do also have a restaurant attached which isn't mentioned. Highly recommend
Fish and chips were really nice I must admit and the service was good.
My only concern was the portion for a large chips which is rather on the medium size but I ordered another portion which made the meal a bit more expensive. In all fairness some people might prefer a smaller "large" portion of chips if they dont want to over eat.
I would go back there again for sure but not anytime soon as I am really full right now.

After trying out other rubbish places like mother Hubbard in Gants Hill I realised this place hi tide and serene fish & chips in Gants Hill is Simply one of the best fish & chips around this area ! Highly recommend this place! Well done and keep up the great work! Both this place hi tide and serene in Gants Hill there customer service is above and beyond ! Always been the best chips around hands down but the fish is also on par with the best. I usually get a cod row and a sausage and the better is very good. Not greasy and its cripsy. Steve the owner is a nice guy and if you're in a rush don't tell him you like football as you'll never get away!! Good size Gherkins and well and if you want a treat then have the chicken nuggets, very nice. The restaurant is also nice to eat in as well.
I was told today that the chips are fried in the same oil as pork sausages, and other meat products, when asked how long this had been going on, was told that has always been the case. I'm very upset to learn this, and thought we had moved on from those days, but clearly not. Vegetarians and anyone who doesn't eat pork/beef should avoid.
I've edited my review because I'm grateful to the person who told me this, because now I can make an informed choice. I wish you all the best for the future, and hope that in the future you may consider frying meat products separately.
I have been going to hi-tide for 20 years. The fish is always well cooked and hot and the chips also very good. Went this evening and the food was of the usual high quality. I recommend this shop
As a northerner, finding a decent fish and chip shop in London is like searching for the holy grail. To the point where I'd almost given hope of finding anywhere half decent. Thankfully Hi-Tide is more than half decent - it's brilliant! Fantastic quality fish, great chips, and all the usual side dishes. A little pricey no doubt for those of us used to northern prices, but top notch quality! Highly recommended!

Always first class. I love having the option to have my fish cooked in matzo meal, even though the batter is always delicious. Staff all polite, friendly and efficient. Ordering by phone and collecting has for us, run like clockwork. Top notch food and service.
On Friday and Saturday nights they have Gluten Free Fish and chips. At last great tasting fish and chips without all the awful side effects! I really enjoyed the gluten free batter ......tasted even better than their regular batter. My husband liked the taste too.
Hi-Tide has been around for years and for good reason. They cook the best fish and chips around for miles. They are a traditional chippy, serving freshly cooked, crispy battered fish and the most fluffy, crispy chips you could wish for. Do yourself a favour and head down, you won't be disappointed.

Quite expensive compared to others fish and chip restaurants. Fish was good, large portion of chips was more like medium compared to others and taste and everything about it was the same
