Review The Plume Of Feathers - Barlaston

Popped in for an evening meal whilst I was travelling to a local hotel. Staff very friendly, beer fantastic. Waiting time was not long. I went for the pie and was not disappointed. Probably the best pie I've had....ever. The crispy kale was fantastic also. Different and much lighter than 'boiled veg'. Absolutely full to the brim with meat. I'm hard to please and this was fantastic. I will visit again if I'm passing. Go on...try the pie...you know you want to.

It had been 24 years since I visited the Plume in Barlaston, and it had changed so much. The service and the food were excellent. The next time I'm in the UK, I would definitely go there again.

Difficult to find fault - staff very welcoming, fantastic beer and the meal we had yesterday evening, was in the words of my husband ‘one of the best pub meals ever had’ - if you’re in the area seriously worth a visit. Dogs and children welcome.

Ate here on a Monday night. Pub and restaurant were both busy but service was still quick. Great beer and the food was amazing. The pie was huge and very tasty with the crispy kale being a different but very good accompaniment. My wife had the gammon which also surpassed expectations. Niamh was a brilliant waitress - attentive but not intrusive.

Beautiful meal with family for mother's day! Delicious food & wonderful staff, in a really lovely looking and cosy pub. We'll be back.

An eclectic menu for a pub, full of lovely, tasty & plentiful food. Service was friendly & efficient. Excellent value for money too. I had the Greek platter & my husband the Plume picnic which he failed to finish due to the enormous portions!

We visited today and were very impressed with the food, service and ambience. Our waitress, Vicki was brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful venue for our family get together and we highly recommend it. (Neil Morrisey wasn’t there but the photos, posters and other decorations made us feel like he was with us in spirit)

Very nice meal and interesting menu. Service was a tad slow and even though the manager was bustling around he never thought to ask us for feedback, etc.

Had the most amazing time here for my Birthday. Hadn't been for a few years because of the circumstances of Covid and other reasons.... However.. WOW it was amazing and worth the wait. Staff were lovely and they were really helpful. Such a lovely happy atmosphere. The decor is lovely everywhere is well thought out..... The Menu is a joy & the quality of the food on your plate is wonderful. Sorry but both my hubby and I think it's the best meal we've had in a long time. Starter's were fantastic and they didn't disappoint with the Main's or the Desserts (it was my Birthday after all) I also had a nice Shiraz.... Very smooth... We can't recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be returning.... The fish and chips look awesome..... Lucky enough to live fairly close. Only slightly disappointed not to see the lovely Neil Morrissey... LOL... Sorry only a few pics.. But trust me each course was awesome xx

Great food and service. Had a terrific Sunday roast and one of few places that serve Bass on draught!

A fabulous place to eat. The food was delicious and was served promptly. The staff provided an excellent service being polite, efficient and engaging in light hearted conversation, all of which added to the dining experience. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. All in all a great dining experience.

Found this lovely little pub as we moored up on a canal boat hired from Stone. Nice interior upmarket sort of decor. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was well presented and came out quickly.

Amazing pub food. Best I have seen for a long time. Beer very good and nice selection. Service good, food fresh cooked and great menu, really nice. I am coming again! Every time you go they do a great job.

Great pub! The food is excellent and the beer superbly kept. Good range of ale, bottles and lager. The food is not "pub grub" it's much higher class than that but prices are spot on for the quality. All freshly cooked, as proved by the perfect yolk in my starter. The beef and (Morrissey) ale pie was delicious and utterly rammed with high quality meat. Didn't have room for puddings sadly!

First time visitor lunch today. Absolutely amazing experience. Very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing food and supersize portions at a great price. I will be returning to this amazing establishment. Thanks very much

OK pub conveniently close to the Trent & Mersey canal. Lacks atmosphere but a useful watering hole. Extensive menu but it's a bit "cafeteria". Don't get me wrong - the food was fine and hit the spot but you'd not take your date there for a special meal. Kids well catered for and very good value for money. Quiet when we visited but the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient.
