WOW! What a Find Two days away to celebrate my birthday, and we found an absolute Gem. Staff are amazing, providing happy, smiling faces at all times, and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are magnificent, providing 5* accommodation. Meals are magnificent but we warned they are on the large side!! We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Love visiting this place. Food is fantastic every time. Well presented, great tasting. The cask ales are my favourite, love that they have their own brewery attached. Would love to stay here one time as beautiful views.

My wife and I stayed only one night but would love to return. Excellent place to stay as the room was lovely. Great food. Parking available. Micro brewery on site with option to buy. Had to move on the next day but wished we could have stayed longer. We will return. Recommend.

Amazing. Rooms absolutely gorgeous. The little added extras really make you feel special. Stunning decor. Food just delicious. Staff are extremely kind, helpful. Nothing seems to be a problem. Not that we had one. Will definitely be revisiting.

WOW what a place! Stunning location. Excellent rooms. The service and friendliness of every single member of staff is above and beyond (every single member of staff said hello). This is a little gem of a place. We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon having stayed in 4 other hotels on our trip, this was the best one by a mile and half the price of all the others. Please book here, your won't be disappointed. We'll done to all

Just there for the food. Busiest when I've been and it makes a difference. Steak Pie was lovely as is the fish pie and belly pork is good too. Great flavours in everything I've had there. Service is always good but better when it's not as busy. Only ever had the scones as a sweet but they're always good. If the lady on the table behind us would have stopped giving it the la di da it would have been better, my god she had some lungs. Overall a great place to eat, never disappointed.

Stayed two nights bed and breakfast. Absolutely stunning throughout from entering and seeing the metal dragon and Edward scissor hands sculptures. The room we stayed in was called the Northdown, and it was immaculate with under floor heating in the shower room. The breakfasts were beautiful and we stayed to have evening meals both nights and OMG cooked to perfection 🥰

Very tasty food. Big portions. On the pricier end of the scale, but very good quality. Service very efficient and friendly. We sat in conservatory, which has a lovely over the countryside. Would highly recommend.

Dog friendly! with water bowls and treats available, Lovely building with a nice outdoor dining area, great menu, helpful and friendly waitstaff, food doesn't take long to arrive. I've visited three times now and it's always a nice day out for us. The staff here are really accommodating and do a great job around dogs.

Stayed here for a night in the admiral suite , it was lovely , the personalised welcome note was a nice touch, the bed is huge! Best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. The staff are welcoming, food is amazing, we had fish & chips for tea and it was quite possibly the nicest fish I have ever had.. we sat in the orangery for breakfast , what a lovely breakfast it was too, the view from the terrace is beautiful I will definitely stay here again.

Really nice Sunday afternoon, ceaser salad was absolutely amazing! Parents really enjoyed the roast beef. Service was really good. No difficulty in polishing off a blood orange and choc ice-cream for dessert! Parents been on holiday visiting us, and possibly might book to come stay for a few nights so definitely a good impression was made! Thank you Zoe and Kim

Absolutely outstanding place to eat. Food just sublime, for three people across two meals, with a third to come. Right outside our cottage too. We struck gold! Highly recommend.

Outstanding in every way. What a wonderful place! Everything was top class and faultless. Our room was fabulous with beautiful views over the Derbyshire countryside. The bathroom was very high class with a huge walk in shower and a stand alone bath. The food was delicious. Well cooked and well presented and the staff were lovely. Very attentive and caring. I can honestly say that this is the best place we've ever stayed and we can't wait to return. Thank you to everyone involved in making our stay perfect 💕

The pub is lovely and has been very tastefully refurbished, with lots of space and a pleasant conservatory space. The food was good as was the service but for me, it was very expensive, so it's more of a special occasion treat than a regular place to eat out.

We have dined here twice. The first time we didn’t enjoy it but everyone has a bad day so decided to try again. The second time was unfortunately worse! We chose to eat here on a Sunday and arrived at 7:00pm and ordered at 7:30pm. My partner ordered a beef roast and I ordered the pork roll. We sat down to have our drinks and a waitress came over to say you had run out of Pork and Beef. This is understandable on a busy day but lack of communication from the kitchen to staff resulted in my partner then having to have a chicken roast and me a chicken ‘roll’. When our main courses arrived, the chicken ‘roll’ turned out to be two slices of dry bloomer with chicken and dry stuffing piled high, and a bowl of roast potatoes. However, the menu clearly stated that the ‘roll’ comes with fries. I asked the waitress to change them for fries as I don’t like roast potatoes. I asked was there a reason it came with roast potatoes? She said there was a mix up in the kitchen!! My partner roast came with veg that was sloppy, piled high as the kitchen were clearly getting rid of it but it looked very unappetising and his chicken was also dry! I went to the bar for two glasses of wine and the staff were quite rude and discussing ‘if we hurry up we can close and get off home’! I was paying on card and the guy just held up the card machine for me to pay without telling the price. I paid and walked away from the bar! You need to address some issues here. Yes we were probably the last few diners for the day and one of the last to order food but all customers should be treat the same way whether I am the first customer or the last. I also think the menu is very limited on a Sunday - not everyone wants a roast on a Sunday or a sandwich! I have heard other friends saying similar things. It is such a shame as the surroundings and views are beautiful! Unfortunately we won’t be going back and we will be telling others of our experience. Very disappointing.

We stayed over and the accommodation was immaculate and really comfortable with air con and bottles of chilled tap water ready in the fridge (good attention to detail.) beautiful location, beautiful view. Food was excellent and really prompt. Their own beer was not really to my taste- either too citrussy or else the best bitter was too like a stout. I would go back again as staff were friendly and attentive and yhe atmosphere was pleasant as well as the room being lovely. Prices were got, really, compared to what we’ve paid elsewhere recently for what turned out to be lower quality. Maybe if they think about their brews I could give that last star...

A very special place. The attention to detail is amazing, staff very helpful and accommodating, food fresh and to die for and rooms that are exceptionally designed to please with a view second to none. Despite being on our doorstep we will be back soon.
