Wow, wow, wow! Absolutely superb food and cocktails last night! Cannot recommend this place enough. Our first time visiting last night and we will most definitely be returning. We were very well looked after by our server and cannot fault anything about our evening at the bank last night thank you!

Beautiful meal tonight with my hubby, the best steak I've eaten. I have it well done and you wouldn't believe how difficult some restaurants find that, they think just burning it is well done, so I can always judge how good a chef is by how they cook my steak and I have to say it was done perfectly! Here's hoping the steak is a regular inclusion on future menus

A restaurant only open for dinner. Pre-booked for 2 people, we had half hot lobster and white crab for starters, surf&turf and risotto for main course, rum caramelised bananas and affogato as dessert. A bit disappointed with the prawn from the surf&turf, it was far too salty which is nearly ruin the balance. Overall, It was a great experience, I would give 4 and half stars. Friendly staff, fresh and healthy ingredients and nice atmosphere. Best dining in local area so far would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. They know their food. Run with efficient and friendly service on the old bank floor with a lovely atmosphere. Arrived a little early and was asked to wait with the offer of drinks, lovely made G&T. Sat on time, menu short but still had a lovely variety. Specials were perfect. Facaccia and olive oil served. We ordered both specials, the Seafood Bisque and cheese scone was exceptional. We shared a whole lobster with the best ever polenta chips. It came hot in garlic with a julienne salad. We finished with an expresso martini. The restaurant was full, and the floor was run by two of the hardest working people I've seen. You can tell it's independent, and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you, and we'll done!

I've been wanting to go for years but never been able to book at a time suitable for me! The food was lovely, the decor was beautiful It's only a small restaurant and there was a large party next to me which made the place very loud. That's just the luck of the draw I guess.

Really nice looking restaurant with plenty of space between tables. We struggled to get a booking when asking but managed to get one online last minute so must have been a cancellation. £5 per person non refundable to book but this is taken off your bill. I didn't mind this and appreciate it stops no shows. Starters and mains were all very well presented and tasted great. My partner's only complaints were the fish and scallops were overpowered by capers and the apple pure. It all tasted great individually especially the black pudding but she missed the scallop and plaice flavour. My lamb belly starter was really tasty but a little small. The duck and sausage bean stew was flavoursome but could have been a bit more generous with the meat portions. We both were disappointed with the cheese board. 2 of the Welsh cheeses were delicious but the other 2 was an average brie and a blue. The crackers looked to be picked from a selection box. Compared to the rest of the meal it would have been nice to have a few artisan or local made crackers. Only a small bowl of chutney and celery to go with the cheese. Would also be nice for a second chutney or grapes, bread etc. Considering it was £10 a plate it felt lacking a few extras and presentation. Martinis were delicious and freshly made around £8 each which is in line with what I would expect in a restaurant. The orchid cider served nice and cold for about £5 which is a bit high but inline for a restaurant of this calibre. Service was great and friendly. Initially thought the starter was slow to arrive but the rest came out pretty quickly. Considering we spent over £110 it started well but lost a point for the cheeseboard being sub par. Everything else tasted great and service was good but considering the price it's not all there

Not the greatest of welcomes, a quick head nod from behind the counter and then told we were early (7:24 for a table booked at 7:30) before being asked to stand, yes stand, in the doorway waiting. Once we were sat down, the service was good although a bit rushed. The food, wow! Amazing, the halloumi starter is something else and I would highly recommend. Our main dishes ( Cod and Beef), were delicious and delivered piping hot. This is a restaurant that delivers amazing food at a reasonable price and a place we would definitely return to. Sort out the basics about meeting and greeting / spacing out your bookings slightly and it will be a five 🌟.

Amazing! My husband and I often go away for city break weekends and are nearly always dissappointed with the meals, as we eat so well at home. We were NOT dissappointed here! Photos show pork belly starter, chicken with couscous, steak and dauphinoise - all wonderful! Make aure you book!

2023. Fabulous. Getting better each time. Update May 2019. It's even better. Now a full 5* superb menu. Best steak I've had in years. Best dining in barmouth by far. Highly recommended. Close to 5* . Great starter and dessert. Main course just missed the mark for me. Not as expensive as first impression. Recommended

Excellent food, reasonably priced and friendly service. The king prawn and pan-fried scallops risotto with samphire is a fabulous main course. We also loved the Thai fishcake starter and crispy seaweed with aioli. Good selection of cocktails, wines and local ales and ciders served.

Nice relaxed place. Advise booking as quite small. Booked for a Monday evening as only In the area for a few days. Place was shut Tuesday and Wednesday so we booked for Thursday after we had eaten on Monday! Scotch egg (with a twist) was gorgeous in a mild curry sauce. Roast chicken and leek resoto very 👍👍👍👍👍
