Went recently here with a group of us for a couples night out. All of our meals were lovely, arrived in good time and great portions. I had the Rump steak on the hot slab so was cooking as it arrives to the table. It was hot and sizzling and nice to be able to manage your food, bonus fry the tomatoes from the salad (lovely Salad and dressing) on here at the same time!... only tip I'd do on a return visit was maybe ask for a side plate as the meat continually cooks. So to keep it Medium rare you need to be able to keep it of the slab at times. Easily go to again if in the area.
First timer, came along to watch a mate do his UB40 tribute act so took advantage to have a dad / daughter date and grab something to eat. Wasn't disappointed one bit, the food is among some of the best pub food I've had. There was a slight mix up when paying in that I ended up paying for someone else's drinks but it was immediately put right with an apology when the staff realised the mistake. Will definitely be back with the wife, for one of the rocks 🤤
Sunday dinner absolutely delicious with slabs of meat and currently 2 for 1 an absolute bargain
Good food, excellent staff, pleasant surroundings and reasonably priced, we are going to be regular customers from now on, really friendly and easy going
First time ever visiting the olive bar and grill definitely not the last. Very pleasant atmosphere and excellent service when arriving. Booked a table online using their website because I had heard it got very busy, was an absolute cinch to use. Decided to go with the vegetarian option, cauliflower cheese tart, absolutely delicious.
The food here is fantastic, it never fails to disappoint, Sunday lunch is amazing, Christmas lunch is fantastic and gammon is my favourite to just enjoy anytime. Massive portions and quality food. Lovely staff and fab atmosphere, very relaxed. Spotlessly clean.
Amazing food and lovely staff. One of our favourite places to go!
First visit to the Olive food was exellent and waiting staff very attentive .However evening was spoilt by a table of ladies I say ladies however the language and decibels coming from that table put a strain on the evening however quality of the food will bring me back however not a Saturday
Went for Sunday dinner, 3 mixed meat and all the trimmings...wow only issue was I could not eat it all. Very nice and will be going again.
We have eaten at the Olive on a number of occasions since moving to Barnby Dun in Sept’22. We have eaten as a couple and eaten there with friends. We have never been disappointed.
Sunday lunch is excellent with quality meat and veg. As a chef for over 30 years I’m a pretty good judge and I would say the Yorkshire puddings are in the top 3 ( after my own!)
The steaks, which are served on hot rocks so you can let them cook to your liking are equally good and the range is impressive!
Even the pizza’s, which I don’t normally eat are brilliant.
The drinks are on the little expensive side, but that’s a sign of the times. Why ruin a good meal with a cheap beer????
Staff and service are always good. If you’ve not already been there and tried it yourself I would highly recommend you do.
