Allotmentz Friern Barnet Road

Nigel and his family treated us like family. I had dinner there twice in the past week and it was consistently excellent. Tender curry goat and fluffy roti, spongy salt fish fritters, refreshing homemade spicy ginger beer. Very reasonable prices. Chilled ambiance where everyone feels at ease to talk to each other - rare in London! Much of the veg grown in the allotment. Our friends from Aldershot still remember this place fondly 2 years after visiting and keep asking us to go back with them. Truly excellent.

The fooooood is amazing, a variety of food. We love the goat curry roti and the chilli prawns! We have tried everything on the menus since the opening! Everything is cooked to perfect with free corkage. Nigel and his wife and the staff are very welcoming and they ethos is to serve the community. I whole heartedly recommend Allotment to anyone! It's chilled, relaxing environment and the food, quality of food is made to perfection (made with pure love)!!!!! I love it!

10 stars. Where is the option for 10 stars. London is very dense. When I came here I felt like I was immediately teleported to the West Indies. Atmosphere hits different frequencies. It's actually rejuvenating for the spirit. The food was just jaw dropping. You could taste the love in the food. Jerk chicken falling off the bone whilst holding that flavor of the bbq spit. Everything about this place is spectacular and special. The service is from the heart and of I could say anything about the cuisine it is "Soul Food" you have to go. Thank you

Went for lunch. Was immediately made to feel part of the community. Such a nice warm welcome! Food was amazing! I had goat curry (which was actually made of goat not mutton!), the meat was melt in the mouth, no need for a knife to cut it, no bones. My friend had the jerk chicken, cooked perfectly! Side were rice&peas, roti, mac&cheese and of course plantain. All cooked and seasoned perfectly, not too oily. Food came quick with generous portion size and was served with a smile. The place is clean, cozy and such a fun vibe. Great value for money and so authentic. Would defo recommend and will be coming back! And they also do delivery/takeaway!

Had a lovely Fathers day lunch. I ordered oxtail, rice and peas. We ordered 4 meals in total, all of which were well presented, tasted really good and were served hot. Washed down with home made lemonade and ginger beer. Very nice drinks. Good sounds playing and nice to see a dog friendly establishment, we dined outdoors. We were welcomed on arrival and served well. Well done Allotments' team! Respect to the Chef! We'll be back, all the way from Northampton!

I ate at the Allotments last night, love this place to bits, it satisfies my taste and soul every time I visit! The food is divine, also the irresistible smell the grill, the friendly staff, the authentic Caribbean style, and the soulful reggae music all come together to create a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

A real taste of the Caribbean in the heart of New Southgate, the staff made us feel very welcomed and provided a wonderful service. The food itself was 10/10: Jerk Chicken was cooked perfectly 🤤 Chilli prawns had a lovely crisp coating with a beautiful kick 🔥 (not recommended for those who can't handle 🌶) 5* Caribbean Street food, I'd recommend 💯👍🏼
