I didn't eat here and as such can't comment but I can say that the people here are very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. The whole place is very nice and has good access and very comfortable surroundings. I took a look at the outside seating and weather permitting it looks very nice. My WiFi connected easily and the bar has a great selection of refreshments. A great place to take the family and this small village deserves a nice village pub and in the Milton Arms they certainly got one.

Just been here for a baby shower party. The two rooms upstairs are lovely and cosy. There are toilets at the top of the stairs too. The pub was busy and the Sunday lunches looked lovely. The people serving were helpful and friendly. There is a reasonably large car park but this was full so I parked on the road without a problem. There is also a large beer garden which I think would be good in nice weather.

First time we've been here and it won't be the last. Great staff and service. We'd heard good reports about their meals and they certainly delivered on that. It was delicious. The pictures probably don't do the meal justice.

The meal was delicious, the only slight criticism is we got offered a choice of pink or well-done beef. We chose pink, but it came out well done, but it didn't greatly spoil the meal. The service was great and the meal arrived very quickly.

Called in after work, good selection of beers and cocktails for the wife. Food was very good. Fast efficient service from friendly staff. Nice beer garden as well.

Proper home cooked food. We went on a Sunday and had a sunday roast, kids sunday roast and a steak pie with chu ky chips. Absolutely fantastic....and plenty of it too.
Great selection of draught beers, lagers and ciders.
We liked it so much that we have booked their function room for my wife's 60th birthday party.

Second time we have visited here with family and the food is absolutely beautiful all homemade and delicious. The service and staff are lovely and the pub has a really homely, vintage feel to it. We will definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed a Sunday roast dinner here on 29th at 3.30pm. The service was fantastic, quick and very friendly, they had a party of 80 diners outside but this didn't stop the great service we received, thank you. I had a beef roast dinner which was cooked perfectly, with the right amount of sides, lots of gravy and creamy horseradish sauce, the dinner was absolutely delicious! I then had a sticky toffee pudding which was the best I've had for a long time. Keep up the good work!

Place was a bit quiet. Food was fantastic but a few requests at ordering were forgotten and had to be prompted.

Enjoyed our Wednesday lunch having visited for the first time. Two areas had lovely fires burning in the grates and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We liked the amount of effort which has obviously been put into the decor, something interesting to see in all directions. The staff were friendly and attentive. The general menu is interesting and varied with the addition of a "Specials of the day" menu. Drinks can be bought at the bar or ordered with food and brought to the table. We all enjoyed our main meals very much (Sea bream & baby clams Special, Steak Pie and Venison Burger & black pudding Special), the desserts were fine but a bit uninspiring. Two of us agreed that the Apple crumble from the Specials menu was rather bland with some of the apple undercooked but the Sticky toffee pudding was well received. (The only other options were Choc Brownie or Cheese board.) The toilets are clean and tidy. All in all a very nice experience but will probably skip desserts next time unless there's something a bit more exciting on offer.

Had small plates for lunch. Hot food. Good choices. Delicious. Food was cooked to order and it tasted good.
Will be going back to try something new from the menu. Great

Really good pie. Ordered with fries. The chips come with the skin on which I don't like.

Lovely village pub near park and cricket pitch. Steak and fish n chips very nice. The apple crumble and custard was an ample portion and yummy!

We had our annual visit to the Elsecar Garden Railway Show earlier today. Lunch at The Milton Arms is now compulsory, the Fish Pie is to die for. Almost worth a £40+ train trip just to go out for lunch.
We have eaten elsewhere and the quality of the food exceeds places where we have paid 3 times the amount. Top quality food and extremely good value.

Iv been regular at the Milton arms for the past 5 years . First of all , there food is a must , always top quality well presented and served. The atmosphere is always very friendly .like a country bumpkin pub . There's a beautiful beer garden to the rear and seating to the front and side where you can sit and watch the world go by (obviously with a drink in hand ) with the heritage centre just down the road you get a variety of people from all over visiting , and lots of frienly conversations.Vikki and Phil have become more than landlady and land lord and would consider them as friends . Had many of laughs in there and sure there's lots to come .....

Brilliant garden round the back. My wife & I tend to eat there around once a week - my fave is the Chicken curry (with 'added spice') or the Desperate Dan pie - but you need to be a little more than peckish for that. Lynn Blakeman favours the ham salad or the scampi - count the pieces & compare to anywhere else!
