Love this cafe. Used to go years ago with my gran. Went on saturday and its still as i remember. Very friendly, quick service. Steak pie was lovely with proper gravy. Would recommend anyone in Barnsley to call in for a cuppa and a great choice of food
Cracking breakfast 👌
Under 6 quid.
I've been going to blackburns most of my life, the food is always homemade and amazing quality given the amount you pay. The staff are some of the friendliest people you could ever meet, always happy to chat and try to help where they can. I have a strange diet and have a disability that usually causes me embarrassment while out but I always feel so welcome in blackburns and never treated differently unlike most places. Keep up the good work guys xx
What a great place. We had a very good value lunch, and the home-made steak pie is very tasty. For afters we had some of the home made cake. Friendly quick service as well.
Brilliant the best Cafe in town..staff are very friendly and caring. Customers are very pleasant too, they all make you feel very welcomed,
And as a disabled person in a wheelchair, like myself the staff and customers are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble.....
So what happens once you get to 5☆? 'A', 'B', 'C' perhaps? Okay - 5A is my rating. Why? Well because first of all (& quite unexpected) this place has table service for orders. Makes sense when not doing so would mean queues close to the cafe's entrance. Secondly, mine and my daughters arrival was acknowledged before even taking a seat, despite how obviously busy they were as we took one of the last free tables. We knew that they knew we hadn't yet placed an order. A member of staff soon took our order which arrived soon afterwards. Although simple fayre I must say, "One of th' best bacon butties I've ed sin ah dunt know when", (translation for non-Yorkshire folk = 'A particularly good bacon sandwich which pleased ones palate and was rather enjoyed). I apologise for my digressions, many years penning a column for an entertainment newspaper's to blame! Anyway, DON'T visit Blackburns Cafe unless you want a warm welcome from efficient friendly staff, prompt attention and service at your table, or well portioned competitively priced food that's tasty, freshly prepared, cooked and 'just like being at home'. Seriously, if you're in the area and fancy a drink or snack, put this place on your shortlist, you won't be disappointed.
