The Cliff House Restaurant

Wow, after an awful pub lunch the day before we had lunch yesterday at the cliff House and from the moment we came through the doors we had a lovely experience. The staff are phenomenal, really friendly, knowledgeable and chatty (they were also really sweet with our daughter). The beers on tap were super clean and fresh and delicious. The food was incredibly fresh and well cooked. We had whole fresh fish of the day and the fish and chips which were both outstanding. Amongst some of the nicest fish and chips I've had. Very child friendly as well! High chairs and great kids menu. We were seated in the dog friendly section of the restaurant which was lovely to have indoor space to sit with a dog, overall just a brilliant experience! We will definitely be back!

I have visited the Cliff House on several occasions but not stayed overnight. The meals here are superb. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is also a great place to come for a coffee and meet friends. What could be better than an evening meal, with a sea view and a sunset. I last visited with a group of friends for the annual gin festival. It was a superb event which was well managed. Even with a large crowd the owners were still friendly and took time to briefly chat. The staff were extremely busy but still cheerful. The live music, large selection of gins and lovely weather made for a great day.

Went here for a meal as a work event (team night out). The service was excellent; polite, attentive but not intrusive. Ordering was quick and easy and the menu had some lovely options - speed of service after ordering was good too. Everything was cooked fresh to oder and, whilst the restaurant wasn't completely full, it was near capacity and yet food was served quickly and hot. The prices aren't cheap (but where is it cheap to eat anywhere nowadays?!), but you definitely get what you pay for and none of us (4 in total) were disappointed with any part of our meals. Highly recommended. Great views too over the cliff top and there's outdoor seating too - if skies are clear then you get a great view of the Isle of Wight and the Needles.
