Popped in whilst on a cycle ride along the old railway line and canal towpath with direct access to the rear courtyard overlooking the canal. Big under cover area and outside bar with lots of cosy rooms and booths inside to eat and drink with friendly staff. Good range of beers and ciders and the menu looked good although we didn't try it. Plenty of space to park the bikes outside.

Stopped off for lunch today whilst walking along the Bath to Bristol river path. We each had a pizza each which were just £6 due to the 6 before 6 offer. Some of the pizzas cost £6 before 6pm. They were lovely and thin and tasty. I had a vegetarian with roasted vegetables and my husband had chorizo, jalapeno and mozzarella. With two drinks (glass of organic verdejo and a bottle of coca cola) the bill came to £22.

Just had one of the best pizzas I've ever had! (Lamb, feta, pine nuts and chilli)
Service was excellent prices were good and it's in a nice location along the canal with seating inside and out

We found this beautiful pub/restaurant whilst walking along the River Avon from The Bath Waterside Marina & Caravan Park.
It took us about 15 minutes to walk here.
The building is huge with plenty of indoor seating in various sections, there is also a large outside area with overhead covering. Very unique and quirky.
The atmosphere was lovely with nice background music being played.
The pub was full of fantastic features and included a wealth of information and history about the place.
The place was very clean and well kept.
The barmaid was very welcoming and friendly.
Overall a fantastic pub, in a fabulous location with great staff. Totally recommend. We only had a drink so cannot comment on the food.

Fabulous service - the guy serving at the bar outside on Sunday was great. It was very busy but the staff handled it brilliantly. The drinks are quite expensive though - ended up paying £7.40 for a pint of Beavertown Gamma Ray but I gotta you pay for the setting. One criticism of the food - I had the pork belly small plate which was far too salty - needed some honey. Other than that, reccomened stopping off here!

Five star food! Service was a little slow but lovely pub and restaurant regardless.

We love this place. Visited again on Bank Holiday Monday at around 2:15 pm. Place was busy (as expected). Ordered the calamari for starters, the burger and fish & chips for mains along with rocket and parmesan as a side dish.
All meals were cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. I'm a man with a huge appetite and I had trouble finishing the food. If you are looking for outstanding pub food with generous portions, quality ingredients and probably the tastiest chips in the city you can't go wrong with The Locksbrook Inn.
This venue has a great ambience, super friendly and efficient staff as well as a great view of the canal. Thank you for a great afternoon!

The menu showed diary and gluten status of every item. Lactose intolerance is the most common food intolerance but you pretty much never see information in restaurants without asking. This made the whole experience much more enjoyable as I didn't have to ask anyone or talk through the menu with anyone before ordering. Thanks! 👏

Stopped here for an afternoon drink having walked from Bath City centre back to where we were staying. The beer garden was a real suntrap in the afternoon.
We returned later that evening to eat. Food was reasonably priced from a straightforward menu and was as I expected. Nothing fancy.

Me and my friend cycled to bath on our own and we didn't now how to get back home because it was a 3 and a half hour ride and if we still tried to cycle back it would have been 11pm.
but thankfully a kind lady helped us and offered to drive us back in her car but my dad came to pick us up.
highly recommended food was amazing my fav pub
Coeliac WellNES
The Locksbrook brunch menu should be commended. A lot of it can be done gluten free and there are options for vegetarian and vegan coeliacs. Full 4* review of our lovely full English breakfast at coeliacwellnes.com. An improvement in their vegan latte (split milk) and the bread (stale) would boost their score, but the team member that served us was phenomenal. Will definitely return, if nothing else to ask him how he can hold that many requests in his head!

Nice Sunday roast in a sunny terrace. The chicken and beef roasts were better than the lentil Wellington (funny but I would say it had too many lentils 😬). Service was perfect, kind and quick

We absolutely love this place we go most occasions the service is really good food is fantastic , I found the waitress that served our table changed from being kind and helpful though slammed the till and didn't answer me when I asked to remove the almost £5 service charge from the bill as I believe the food and drinks are already quite expensive and was paying the bill alone

Stop for coffee in the morning, nice but it could have been a lot hotter. Went back in the evening for an anniversary, had the steak which was cooked to perfection and then had the "mini sticky toffee pudding" (and if that's a mini what's the full one like🤔), the staff were really good and very friendly and attentive making sure all tables were looked after. Can recommend it.

Sadly this was far below par food wise.
Firstly, the food serving size can only be described as a child portion, I don't expect when paying £15/16 for a roast dinner to feel as though the main is no more the size of a starter. When we were asked if the food was ok I did point this out only to be greeted with a shrug, although the quality of the food itself was very good.
We decided, perhaps against our better judgement to order a dessert, hoping things might improve. Granted, I am not sure of the correct definition of a dark chocolate sundae but i was expecting spoonfulls of hot dark chocolate sauce over ice cream with whipped cream on top. Sadly this was no where to be seen.
We were presented with a small glass jar, layered with bland whipped cream, some kind of dark chocolate cake or brownie, an equally uninspiring layer of cream then at the bottom a caramel sauce (may of been a light chocolate sauce) but by this point I had given up.
It was not all bad, the decor is very nice and the double gin and tonic was lovely. what promised to be a lovely Sunday roast was terrible and we won't be returning.
I don't know how their sister pub; The Marlborough could get is so right two weeks before and the Locksbrook to be so poor.

It's a great setting and the dining area opening out on to the river is lovely. The food suffers by comparison with its sister pub the Marlborough Tavern but is less pricey. It was all OK but nothing really stood out, the squid starter is nicely cooked but the batter is bland, the chicken kebabs are nice but uninspiring etc. On the positive side the wine we had was delicious and the chips are really good.
The service ranged from poor to good depending on which waitress was serving at the time. The girl who took our order seemed bored and didn't seem to know the menu.
I'd probably go again but won't be rushing and it'll be with lower expectations. Great for a pint and chips on a hot day, not so great for an evening meal.

Had the venison dish it was ultra rare with only one side cooked I like my steaks rare but must b sealed both sides it had a decent serve of sweet potato with very little else..was dissappinted

Just popped in with my teenage son and decided to have a quick drink and some food .
It was early evening so few people about but not too many in .
Service was very polite and friendly and we didn't wait long for our food to come .
All in all have a very pleasant meal in very nice surroundings with extremely friendly staff

We had Christmas Day lunch. Greeted with glass of champagne and shown to our table by friendly attentive staff. Food generally very good but would have preferred gravy in a jug - not a plateful of it ! - and more roast potatoes, also served separately please ! Delicious sprouts (shredded, with bacon), also good choice of puddings. A most enjoyable meal, and lovely festive atmosphere, just perhaps a little overpriced at £65 though.

A great atmosphere! The staff are always helpful and welcoming.. Sunday lunch was lovely, can safely say we have always had great meals here from sharing boards to pizza. Oh and the duck egg custard slice was amazing!

Had a fabulous time at The Locksbrook Inn. Staff were so helpful and we had great food. Well worth our walk there. So will be recommended this place to our friends .

Absolutely love the place and the food!!! Excellent location en-route of Bristol to Bath cycling path in lovely neighbourhood of the canal. In warm season its our traditional stop during weekend bike races.

Terrible service and terrible food!! We booked a table for 11 people tonight for my partners 40th, the wine was warn, the food took over an hour, ordered the fish and chips and was then told they had no chips, had the burger which tasted like it had been left on the bar b que for a day.
Stay well clear of this place it's the second chance for us and it keeps getting worse!!
If you want a better meal at a 5th of the price Mc Donald's is just over the bridge!
Paul Spanswick
Worse meal I have experienced. Service was awful and had to wait an hour for our food. We were told when we were ordering that there were no chips left.......joke, can't the chef peel some potatoes? Won't be coming here again
Steven Ridge
Great food and beer, lovely beer garden. Was a wait for food but the place was rammed so I'll let them off! Will definitely be going back
