Favourite dinner that we had in Bath!
Atmosphere was so lovely and cosy, staff were really friendly and so helpful with the menu etc. And then the food and wine was just incredible! Really interesting flavours but we loved everything we tried.
Stopped off for a nightcap here with friends recently just because it looked interesting. We were shown to a large sofa and chairs at the rear of the Bottle Shop and enjoyed a lovely glass of various wines. A wine shop, friendly authentic service and although we didn’t order food, there looked to be some tasty accompaniments available. Recommended.
Best wine bar in bath! Vast selection of wines from around the world .
You can buy any bottle and have it in the shop for a 15£ corkage fee.
When it’s raining it’s a great spot to spend the afternoon
The staff is highly knowledgeable and can pick some great wines for you. Plus everyone is super friendly !
This place is fantastic! The food and drinks are both excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's the perfect spot to spend some quality time.
This place was absolutely amazing. A really good vibe and fantastic staff who are happy to help a novice wine fan choose the right glass. The food was also really well considered. Every dish was so tasty and fantastic value. I couldn't recommend enough *****
Had really good service here and the food was brilliant. They were able to recommend for me the right drinks to have with the dessert. Which was a really nice cherry chocolate mousse. Would come back again.
Beautiful food that was great to share. Be sure to get the chocolate dessert and the pudding. Great outdoor seating area for people watching.
Amazing Restaurant! We had a great experience there, the staff were super friendly and helped us choose some great wines, plus the food was just spectacular! Highly recommended.
Modern British sharing plates. The food is excellent, locally sourced, and the atmosphere relaxed and cozy. The wine list, as a wine merchant, is of course brilliant.
Absolutely fantastic food! This is a very popular spot in bath and for good reason. It has a chilled out vibe yet the food and service live up to the hype and expectations.
Must try dish:
1) The fish dish - the Cornish Plaice melts in your mouth and was cooked so beautifully.
2) The cheese board is also a must have.
Loved this place! Came for dinner on a Friday night when visiting Bath for the weekend and would come back to Bath just to come here again. Fantastic food, friendly staff, beautiful venue and amazing wine!
Popped in for a couple of drinks. Wine was great, tried the Chenin Blanc and Rioja Blanca, both recommended. Nice buzz to the place too. Service was great, especially the member of staff who followed us down the road for 500m or so, to hand us the bag we left behind (idiots that we are) - many thanks team Beckfords.
Our lunch was absolutely excellent, faultless. Delicious food, brilliant staff, great ambience and refreshingly reasonable. A new favourite spot in Bath. They also have the smartest highchairs. Can’t wait to return (later this afternoon)!
Frequent attendee - perhaps a little too frequent! Although similar places exist striking the balance between restaurant / wine bar / bottle shop is a tricky act and they’ve pulled it off nicely. Consistently good food, a superb wine selection for any palate and lovely surroundings. Perhaps most important is the attitude of the staff who are knowledgeable, attentive (without being intrusive) and incredibly friendly. Don’t all come at once - I may not get my usual seat! But do visit it as you won’t regret it.
One word of faux caution - one staff member (no names) is an expert at upselling when you’re ordering wine. Have never regretted it but you have been warned. See you there!
Honestly couldn’t fault it. We went for some nibbles and wine later in the evening and hadn’t expected it to be quite as good as it was. The setting was perfect and every single member of staff was beyond lovely. That, on top of delicious food and wine made it the perfect place to go for our Saturday night. Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely Place, good wine range for sure.
Now about the small plates /dishes, snacks everything about food- food is tasty but as it’s states on side board “Bistro”, I couldn’t agree with that 100%, when the dish takes 30 min to arrive to be served it can’t be written a sign on a board “Bistro” because it’s too long to wait for a dish and this has to be considered as it can confuse customer.
Second thing the tables outside some of them weren’t stable when you try to cut the dish it moves - is important that tables are still.
Other than that I loved the crab dish and the bread snack and the coffee.
Service was a bit slow, but we left happy after all.
I recommend.
The ground floor is a literal wine shop with tables scattered around. Downstairs is the Vault, which is a slightly more traditional looking restaurant.
Food is tapas/small plates, and well done. Definitely recommend the meat & cheese charcuterie board.
£15 *per bottle* corking fee even if you buy the bottle from the shop - this seems a little excessive. But the restaurant wine list is pretty good, so sticking to that is probably fine.
We had such a great time here. The food and service is amazing! I can see they are very passionate and love their job.
Just a lovely wine shop/bar with intimate dining areas serving small plates of well thought out food. As you’d expect, a great and reasonably priced wine selection and tremendous ambience.
If you’re vegan like me, tell them in advance and they won’t disappoint.
