Very good Sunday roast. Wish they can sell or upsize the beef cuts for higher price. Beef is juicy and tender, the restaurant looks beautiful. Coming from Asia, that is the first time I tried Yorkshire pudding. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. ( the staff is not very interested in collecting money!đ)

We had a really good experience here. The place is really well made with an amazing ambiance. I think I can call this place for everyone. This place certainly has everything for all ages. The cocktails were decent and prices were reasonable. The only thing I felt was they could've cleaned the rooftop area more frequently. Overall highly recommended

The sticky toffee pudding is just devine! And they do really good black coffee too. Vegan Sunday roast was nice but Yorkshire pudding tasted burnt. But it's a lovely place and I love the atmosphere

All the staff were both friendly, professional and efficient. Really enjoyed our meal and some cheeky drinks on the Terrace.

Fantastic late lunch and drinks, Gil was the perfect host, would thoroughly recommend for a full meal, bar snacks or just drinks, 3 floors, all different, make sure you check them out before deciding where to sit as all offer something different

Great Bath pub.... Away from the mad crowds. Nice rooftop Terrace. Bar over 3 levels. Excellent food.

Beautiful building with a great vibe and small roof terrace.đ Food much better overall than their Wichelstow venue but the kitchen staff seemed overstretched despite it being a relatively quiet evening. Waiting staff all very professional, helpful and friendly. However, the ladies toilets were like a bomb site and this really let the whole place down. đđť

Amazing bar and restaurant with incredible decoration. Lovely stairs and rooftop garden.

Really great place for food and socials.
We were really well looked after by the staff, very quick and attentive service. Food was delicious. We had the burgers, steak and duck leg. All were delicious- the fries were lush, steak was cooked very well and so was the burger. Duck was lovely but it missed having the skin a bit more crispy.
Very impressed to see how dog friendly it is- we were given a bowl with water and a small plate with dog bones on it - fantastic addition!
The place it self looks amazing! With the big staircase and a very open restaurant.
Definitely recommend here and the prices are really great.

Brought my old mum for lunch. She had mushrooms on toast, small but enough for her and very tasty. My nourish bowl was fantastic. Often they and poke bowls are boring with a few random bits of veg chucked on a plate but this was made with care and like someone wanted to make a good plate of food. Really delicious. Service good, nice place.

This place is great. Just far enough off the square to be local or at least a hidden gem. We had a bit of a diabetic emergency and Anna was there to save the day. She was very attentive and made sure our friend was well looked after. Her service with a smile and ability to keep calm and carry on deserves praise. The food was good the atmosphere was charming and clean. Great stop for a rooftop drink or lunch. Food was well priced and delicious.

Lovely Sunday roast, with all the trimmings. Clearly a busy place with a high throughput of diners and drinkers alike. Used to be an old auction house, so it has a good ambience. Staff are friendly, although its bar service only.

Connie served our group and she was absolutely fantastic. Couldnât have asked for better so just want to say thank you. She was attentive and always there when you needed her. Intelligent, funny and charming. If only more servers are like her. Keep it up. Food and drinks also pretty good but services made it for us. Thanks Iain

What a delightful place and caters for many types of visits. I met here as part of a large group as we finished a timed scavenger hunt here on the roof terrace and were made to feel most welcome.
We'd pre-ordered and everything went like clockwork with nothing to much hassle. I had steak followed by ice cream. The steak was spot on medium rare though I may have preferred a cheesier cheese sauce. The only minor quibble was the size of the ice cream, one small ball. Others had much larger puddings so it seemed at odds. Maybe they don't expect adults to order ice cream as a pudding. Anyway, it wasn't sufficient an issue to detract from my overall score. I loved the place, the decor is perfect with the 1st floor shiny metallic squared ceiling and the basement toilet entrance the particular highlights. We were a large group and the menu catered for us all, thoroughly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere and very spacious which is nice if you come with a big family/many friends. Food was slightly disappointing due to the price/portions we got. I asked for a cheese plate and got two tiny pieces of cheese (the other one was decent - three pieces in total). Also ordered a pie with mash and there was not much mash on the plate and the pie was not hot enough. We would still come back, though would be nice to have slightly bigger portions.

Beautiful pub - decorated in a very modern yet cozy fashion. We came for sunday roast. The food was just OK - the potatoes were fried rather than roasted, the meat was mediocre. The cake was incredibly dry and sweet. The latte was perfect. 4 out of 5 because it was a nice atmosphere with mediocre food

Went for my sons birthday we booked the top room , on arrival was asked if we wanted water on the table which I said yes , not realising till we got the bill it was ÂŁ4.15 !! The telly in the private function room didn't work so no atmosphere , and found our food for the price was plain and small portions , no garnish etc , nice place for a drink but wouldn't go back for food

Wow this place has got way too big for itâs boots. The nicest day for weeks and you cannot serve food on the terrace as you donât have the staff. How is it any different? The kitchen is on the middle level and you can eat in the ground level! So itâs 1 floor either way???? Plus I just counted 12 staff stood at the ground floor bar!
With the exception of one member of staff a lovely chap in glasses, who actually told us we can order at the bar to eat on the terrace. The rest were clowns and their attitudes clearly reflect their leadership which was non existent. Real shame as I love this place and often travel to come here.
So now I am going to down my drink leave, and find somewhere else that can actually serve a busy sunny Saturday in Bath.

Stunning venue and interiors - we stumbled across this place while meandering around. Beautiful sunny day so we made out way to the roof terrace for a drink.
Very surprised to see how dirty and unkempt it was.....litter / bottles / cigarette butts everywhere.
Great views though and perfect place to chill.
Inside is fabulous, and a real wow factor is the ceiling , stairs and fabulous oversized copper bar.
We decided to pop back for food that night - about 6:30 pm. Really dissapioninting menu with little choice.
4 out of 7 of us did not enjoy our meals - mediocre pub food not very well cooked.
The waiter was great but we all left really disappointed.
Is this really in The Times Top 10 venues in the U.K.?
Come on Hall & Woodhouse, I'm sure you can do better...! That venue deserves it!

Roof top terrace great, food over priced, clearly under staffed, customer service really poor, who takes plates away when people are still eating and offers the desert menu??? Who takes a wine cooler away from a table without asking if you want more wine??? A smile goes a long way, I would recommend that the staff try it!!

Had to wait 30 mins as walked in without booking but plenty of space ,very friendly service, food was excellent , highly recommended ( roast dinner was superb). Also roof terrace on top floor, good views.

Really disappointed- had the fish and chips at lunch time -ÂŁ13 and the fish was so thin and dry it was just batter - the chips were surely not triple cooked ! Awful- such a shame as it a nice place - I did complain about the food and was offered an alternative but had already eaten most of it hoping to find some fish within the batter . Surprised also to find a whole gherkin dumped in the tartare sauce -
Complacent .

The food was excellent (rose veal for me, duck for my partner) and I thorough enjoyed my juniper and elderflower cocktail.
Couldnât give a full five stars as the service was quite slow which was due to a lack of staff waiting tables. The one waitress that was on the floor throughout did the best she could but service would have been improved if there was at least one more person to help her.

This is usually our pub of choice on visits to Bath. But yesterday was so disappointing.
We arrived for lunch, chose sharing plates from the menu, only to be told that none of the sharing plates were being served...neither were two of the sandwiches " because we have a big party tonight".
What kind of place cuts half its menu at lunchtime because of a party in the evening?!
And if that kind if appalling service is necessary- at least warn your customers on entry with a blackboard sign or management apology.
Never again....

Stunning place, but the service is terrible weâre we left in between courses because the staff went on lunch breaks and no one covered the tables. We booked for 2:15 and had not had desert at 5! Had to keep asking for drinks . Really disappointed have been before and had an excellent time which is why I booked for my husbands birthday. Wonât go again

Lovely find at lunchtime in great surroundings and made us and our dog feel very welcome! The food choice was good and delicious ! Great speed and service also! I would definitely recommend !

We had a terrible experience here on Saturday. This is a bar I have been to many times before and never had a problem, but I will never go back to now. We were out for a birthday (10 women all over 30) we had been drinking but were in no means very drunk. As a group of 10 we were noisy, but nothing I would class as extreme and we were all just sat down on a table and playing a game amongst ourselves when a security guy came up and asked us to be quiet or we would be asked to leave, in fairness he asked us politely enough. We then put our game down and decided to drink up and leave as felt uncomfortable. Within 2 minutes of this the bar manager came up to us and very rudely declared they would no longer be serving us and we were to hurry up and leave. The place was absolutely dead and If we were drunk and causing disruption I would completely understand but we were not! It is a bar after all. I have never been spoken to so rudely and will never return here now.

Always have a lovely time here. The staff are truly wonderful, and always do their upmost to be helpful and accommodating.... (even on the occasions where we have babies and dogs in tow!) Great atmosphere and yummy food/drinks too. A big thank you to all the staff here.

Out in bath for a friends birthday and came to Hall and Woodhouse as part of the annual ritual. To our surprise we were asked to keep the noise down, which made us feel uncomfortable so we did and decided we would finish our drinks and go elsewhere, 2 minutes later another member of staff came and told us we would not be served anymore......this was disgusting considering we had taking notice of the previous warning and kept the noise down while we finished up our drinks!!! We were just a bunch of girls having fun, nothing outrageous. Disgusting behaviour by the powers that be, even the bar staff were embarrassed about the situation. Ridiculous!

On a boiling hot bank holiday...you allow people to order food in the garden, after leaving menus on the tables to then come up and say you canât eat up here! Even the outdoor bar fails to open! So poor!
