Called here today, passing through from Manchester. This chippy is exceptionally good, how chippys in Manchester used to be. To be honest was so sick of tasteless Fish and Chips had given up. Was bit undecided going in, served by such a lovely, lovely, girl, dark hair, glasses. She was friendly, really helpful, she's a credit to Howies! Anyone reading the reviews, try it, the Chips were done to perfection, not done in cheap, nasty, oil. The Fish was heavenly. I would go back to Batley again just for the Fish and Chips from Howies! ❤️

Used to go here nearly everyday when i went to Batley High school in the early 2000s. I tried this chippy the other day again after all these years and wow. Just how i remember it. I'm going to make the effort to visit this chippy on a regular basis. A fantastic Yorkshire chippy. Clean, friendly staff and fantastic Fish n Chips. 5⭐

VIMTO So glad to have the most traditional 🐠 fish and chips 🍟 when stopped in #Betley for an hour today. A traditional restaurant and takeaway, traditional cooking and the portions. The ladies who cooked and served it where a match to the place so nice friendly ang generous with the portions. The finishing was not expected as well the fish and chips wrapped in newspapers the old traditional way. But they have the nowadays fish and chips papers under the newspaper to keep it safe with traditional. When we sat in one of the squares in #Betley never thought that we could finish it but we did and with reading news as we ate. Great place not to miss when you there.

Was my grans go to place for fish and chips and usually they are really nice. Just don’t go 15 mins before their ‘close time’ otherwise you won’t get served, because they are ‘closed.’ Should put their close time 15 mins before they actually turn the lights off because they aren’t serving customers up until that time.
